  1. We've (Aunty, Mum and I) have always given it to our budgies. They absolutely love it!
  2. So this is the turtle my little brother found on Thursday. It was walking past our house on the footpath being harassed by those annoying little brown birds.. (I don't know what they are called ) It is an Eastern Long Neck according to the guy at the Pet (Fish) Shop. We went and bought it some food today and hopefully if it's not raining to much tomorrow I will make a pond for it out the back. We've got posters and stuff up at the milk bar down the road and we've rang all the vets and pet shops in the area, so If someone has lost it they will know where to find it. And If no one claims it it we will probably take it to the local bushland reserve and put in the pond there. There is already another turtle there the is the same type as it so I think it will be fine..
  3. Just thought I'd share the most recent photos of my not so little guinea pigs and the dogs Azura Sunshine We think she is about 6 weeks pregnant, not that you can really tell.. so maybe she's not that far.. You can feel them though and see them when she is laying down.. Rex A little bit blurry.. But you can see how big he is now! Tilly Mischa Her dad is a pure bred Husky, thats why her eye is blue. It's sorta creepy sometimes.. And where she spends most of her time.. Under my desk!
  4. Cindy is gorgeous! I can't wait to see what the bub's are.
  5. At one stage I had 15 budgies, 1 rabbit, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 3 guinea pigs, 2 ducks, 1 chicken, 2 rats and a galah.. In case you can't tell, I'm and addict too! Welcome to the forum!!
  6. Hopefully I'll be doing the course too! Thanks for letting me know where to find the info Splat. I really appreciate it. I'm planning to send my enrolment stuff in sometime next week.
  7. They way things ended last time was, She stopped feeding the chick and then we think both parents attacked it and pushed it out of the nest. They were both cover in blood (not their own). And this time It was an accident because mum can't tell her birds apart.. They have two eggs. They had four but she pushed two out. They are in there own breeding cage this time and seem to be doing well. But she was okay up until the egg hatched last time.. How likely do we think they are to attack the new chicks? We would of fostered the eggs out, but we don't have any other breeding pairs..
  8. That's exactly the sort of thing that I am trying to get into. But I haven't been able to find a course that isn't in Melbourne and that is too far away. As it is I am being forced to move to a town and hour and a half away from were I live now to do an Equine Study course next year. The course I've wanted to do since I was 13 is 5 hours away.. and I'll need 15 hours work placement just so they consider letting me enrol. Good luck wih it. And DrNat's advice is brilliant. I've been studying this sort of stuff most of my life and its made the short courses i've done in the past a whole lot easier.
  9. They are all gorgeous! And that photo is adorable!!
  10. So, my usually poke around at the local pet shop either turned out to be a good thing or a complete waste of time today.. First I noticed that the cages were all disgusting. I notice this everytime I go in there and always mention it. Secondly I noticed that there were up to 30 finches packed into a little cage. there were 5 cages. Thirdly I noticed these two. Bird 1 Bird 2 Not the best photo's, but you can still see how sick they are. Especially the second one. It didn't move once the whole time I was there. None of the other birds look very well either, but these two were the worst. And the cage. I asked her to move the birds away from the rest of them and she said she would. She usually does. I went to school with her so I know she isn't some heartless monster, But her boss! I swear, all he cares about is the money. The cockatiels (when they have cockatiels) don't get any light! Except the little bit that comes through the front of the cage. All that needs to done done to fix it is to remove the roof of the aviary and replace it with wire. He can buy the wire from the shop next door. I have been handing cover letters in at this particular shop nearly every week for the last year and he just won't hire me. Even though the days I hang around and help clean up the shop looks amazing and even the birds are happier. It's not fair that the birds are suffering because he hires people that don't care about them and even worse that he doesn't care about them.
  11. The dad is gorgeous Kaz! Mum is very pretty too..
  12. Oh wow, yours does have a very Rotti face! With mine, her body is very rotti-ish.. but I can't get a photo of it to show you lol Atleast yours stays on a chain! We were told not to bother chaining her up cos she just brakes them
  13. These are the best I could get! She doesn't sit still! lol LOVE this picture of her! lol She is so gorgeous! and BULKY! She is huge! lol No one is even gonna think about breaking into our house now! There is no way I'm ever gonna be able to walk her, she is one of those "let me run!!!!" dogs lol lucky there is a fenced in footy oval down the road!! My mum and aunty are gonna be so jealous! And she doesn't care about our jack russel X (Tilly).. Tilly bit her and she ran away!.. And I'm getting the birds, not this weekend but next!!
  14. On Tuesday I am getting a new dog! She a 12 month old American Bulldog X Rottweiler. She is brindle. I am so excited! I couldn't believe it when my fiance said I could have her! She is going to need a new name, because I don't like Saiya :glare: I like: Tara, Sheba, Scout, Joanie, and a million more! lol So help is desperately needed! And the good budgie news is: My aunty is terrified her bull mastiff is going to brake into her aviary and eat her birds and she doesn't really have time for them anyway, so she is giving them to me! Her boyfriend is going to bring them here sometime in the next couple of weeks (whenever he is off work next.) (It's good news for me, anyway. She has Sam! The first bird I ever got! and I miss him! )

lol What a smarty pants! That is so cute
  16. lol, We can only hope I get the prettiest bird possible from this pair.. Can anyone tell me when the feathers start coming through? Mum isn't exactly sure when the baby hatched.. It already has feathers coming through.. And it doesn't look like she has been feeding it much.. she is obviously feeding it a bit though.. I've told mum to keep a close eye on it to make sure its getting enough food. From the look of the eggs I think atleast one more egg is going to hatch. So hopefully that will happen tomorrow! since it didn't happen while I was there today.. one of the eggs has a little crack in it.. could that be it starting to hatch or could she have done it when she moved it or something?...
  17. *Hopes dad is split to blue!!* I'm getting half the clutch.. or the one chick, and I really really don't need more green..
  18. That's great JB!
  19. What will the chick be from this pair? & They are my mum's birds. They have 1 chick so far and there are another 3 eggs still in the nestbox. She pushed another 2 out, what are the chances of the remaining eggs being fertile?

Link He's been making this sound for the last couple of days.. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with him, besides the noise making and I don't know what to do about it.. If there is anything I can do about it.. He usually does it for alot longer then that, he was doing it for about 10 minutes before I started recording him.. If anyone thinks they may know why he's making this sound, please please please tell me! * Sorry about the talking in the background, we have a stray human in our house at the moment..
