How Old Do Babies Need To Be, To Leave Nest?
My babies leave around 4 weeks of age. By that time they are usually fully feathered and can eat seed on their own.

okay Thankyou KAZ This is my current situation. I have 8 breeding cages, 6 steel and 2 wood. The 2 wooden cages have red mite, the steel ones do not. The babies in the wooden cages are all 3 weeks old +. If I were to pull the cages apart, wouldnt that confuse the mother then she wouldnt feed her babies anymore? is 3 weeks old enough to sit the babies in an ice cream container in the bottom of the cage? All night? I kill these things but they keep coming back, would they have a nest somewhere?

I have used scatta 7 under concaves, mite spray , iverctmin. And the red mite are still here. I have orded ail online but it will tale 5 days to get here. This will be the last clutch for all budgies for this year and most of next year. The red mites make me itchy so I cant imagine what they are doing to the budgies.

The Budgerigar Program
The colours under the line choice are like a symbol. All budgies from one line could be under black with one stripe. Then budgies from another line could be dark green with red stripe. I use this so I dont inbreed mine, one family is black stripe, another family is black with red stripe.. and so on.

Greens
Grey green is where the grey factor is added to the green factor isnt it? so If a grey male was mated to a light green hen I think that is how you get grey green babies.

Cages ? Right Or Wrong ?
Those cages are pretty big, personally I think you could have atleast 6 budgies in their, just put an extra water dish or food dish in their and it should be fine.

I wish I lived in melbourne, I would buy him. I've never seen a grey like that before.- Photos Of Some Of My Birds
Very nice birds splat. I especially like the yellow one up top and the yellow one in the bottom picture, not sure if they are the same though I think I have seen him before in one of your other posts.- My New Budgies
Pretty birds. rocky looks to be a skyblue spangle. Baily looks to be a rec pied. Cant see the other birds wings so I cant say what they are.- Pearce's Budgerigar Blog
Thankyou very much Melbournebudgies. The grey factor adds on to the white based or yellow based budgie right... then they are turned into either grey green (yellow based) or grey (white based) is the budgie then dominant? How does this work? I understand violet is the same as grey? Thankyou all.- Pearce's Budgerigar Blog
Unfortunatly the silly red mite are back again. No babies are sick but I am going into brisbane to find the ail KAZ suggested. Just wondering if iverctmin can be used on babies over 3 weeks of age and if it will work temporarily against redmite.- Pearce's Budgerigar Blog
Thankyou Dave and Jimmy. Some of these mutations are just so confusing. So a cobalt male bird can be split for albino but a cobalt female cannot. I know a normal hen cannot be split for lutino but can a lutino hen be split for another mutation? This guide which used to work for me does not work anymore http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=18851 Does it work for you?- Pearce's Budgerigar Blog
Hi I think I have figured out what sex linked is. It means that the male can be split but the female cant? so a lutino female cannot be split for another mutation but a male lutino can? - What Colour Do You Think This Bird Is ?
