Hi I need a name for my new female rat. Shes an agouti hooded. Which means she has a brown head and stripe down her back flecked with black, and the rest of her body is white. She is pregnant at the moment! Due anyday now I cant wait!! I also have 2 other rats, they are males and their names are Aladdin and Bandit. Aladdin is an agouti hooded and Bandit is a black hooded. So get your thinking caps on guys I want something unordinary not too girly and not babyish. See you :budgiedance:

I covered the cage just then. okay. cant expect results immediatly, keep an eye on him though - Yes the bone is sharp. okay. Not good, sounds like he is underweight. The food is the same good job - I purchased him from Burwood Pets and Birds. okay. Try sending forum member Angelic Vampyre a PM, she goes to Burwood Pets and Birds frequently I believe also believe she knows the owners, may be able to help. Sorry - the cage is too dark to take photos. Okay, can you take the cover off for a minute just to get a quick photo then back on again? Just easier when we can see the bird.

Okay. When did you cover the cage? Now or earlier? The bone I want you to feel, is the bone that runs right down the center of his chest. Is the seed the same as what he was eating prior to you owning him? Where did you purchase him from? Any chance of photos?

Is he eating his nails, or just playing with them? Mine will chew their claws too, they seem to enjoy it. I personally dont think you should worry about him not eating yet, but if you are worried, cover the back of the cage and the side that should help him calm down. Pick him up, does he feel light? Can you feel his keel bone - is it sharp? What have you been offering him to eat? Does he have seed accessible to him all the time?

How long have you had him for? Photos would be good also. Are you sure he's not eating? Check the seed dish for any empty husks or the floor also.

Ohh Maesie! Awesome!!! I love Rats soooo much! I currently have 3. Went to the pet shop last week to choose 2 to put on hold as I was going away that weekend and was picking them up on Tuesday. Chose a Black hooded and an Agouti hooded was told they were both males as that is what I wanted. Ended up when I was in the car on the way home, I discovered 1 was a male and 1 a female, pregnant too! So out I went again later and got another male. Now I have 2 males, and a pregnant female! Noticed you only have 1 rat, it is highly advised to keep 2 as they get very lonely by themselves. They will still bond to you the same though. Would love to see your cage! What are you feeding her? My boys names are Bandit(black hooded) and Aladdin(agouti hooded). Havent got a name for my girl (agouti hooded) yet, they seem harder to name!! Hi, just needing some advice - went to the beach the other day, and brought home a bag of cuttlefish for my birdies! Since it is off the beach, I assume I need to soak it? Any advice on what to do with it before giving to them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
