Can Someone Come And Rub My Shoulders Please
Ummm yeah he doesn't even have a suit jacket. The main problem is that his best man is like a 5 or 6XL so it's not an easy walk in and buy it of the rack thing, it does need to be done in advance sothat they can get a large size suit in. It's a really formal venue too so jeans really would look out of place, if we had gone with a park like I wanted then jeans would have been fine

I'll be in a beautiful dress and he'll be in jeans at this point

Best Type Of Lighting/heat Lights
Unfortunately because the garage has no insulation I think a radiater would chew through a lot of power, I'm actually thinking I might just use some 25watt bulbs to great a heat pocket in one area of the aviary.

Can Someone Come And Rub My Shoulders Please
It is 8 weeks until our wedding on Sunday. My OH has two jobs, the band and the suits for him and his best man (only one groomsman thankfully) there's only one problem...my OH couldn't organise his way out of a paper bag! He still hasn't organised his suits despite me telling him for the last three months that it takes two months for them to get them in. This morning he finally went to formal wear shop and started organising them, he phoned me and the conversation went something like this: Me: Hey Him: Hey, so I'm at the suit place Me: So have you found something? Him: They're so expensive, I don't believe it costs that much to hire a suit! Me: I told you 6 weeks ago it costs that much, it's not a surprise...so did you find something? Him: Well luckily they have the suits on the rack but it takes eight weeks to get the vest in Me: Ummm... you do realise our wedding is IN eights weeks? Him: Yeah but it's only the vest so it doesn't matter Me: Argghhhh typical! Beep, beep, beep.... Yesterday I tried to get him to make some mini strings of fairy lights for on the tables, if it was just before xmas I could buy them but no one stocks them at the moment. Suddnely I was being quizzed whether he should make a board with a program so they flash or flicker, etc, etc. Geez so now our wedding is gonna look like my local fish and chip shop with it's chaser lights going out the front I gave up and organised them myslef. I may die of stress before the wedding happens!

Best Type Of Lighting/heat Lights
My OH is going to help me make up the lighting for my new flight which will be inside the garage. At the moment they get natural light through the large roller door which is open all day and also a single flourescent tube in the ceiling but I don't think this is enough light for them to encourage them to breed. It's a rental house so I can't install anything permanent but my OH is a sparky so he's going to make me up (or buy me pre-made) some plug in lights which we will mount inside the flight in a safety cage and also at the top of each bank of breeding cages. Also there is no heating in the garage so I am considering getting some heat lights. Any advise on the best type of lighting? Should I be using a natural sun flourescent tube or is flood lights okay? And are heat lights worth it? All the lights will be on timers so they will have extended daylight in the garage regardless of whether I sleep in.

I don't mind explaining things simply Neat. I am hoping to do my dip ed next year to be a science teacher and I have taught peple from the ages of 4 up to adults so I actually enjoy helping people expand their understanding. Sometimes it's also a matter of teaching something the right way too, the way one person explains something won't work for everyone so you have to be versatile and be prepared to reinvent things a bit

To make it easy for you this is a punnet square. Bear in mind that this is very simplified and it doesn't take into account if they are carrying other mutations, etc. Basically it shows the genes that each parent is carrying on their sex chromosome. N represent anything other than TCB or another sex linked mutation as that would stuff things up even more! It shows that you will get half TCB hens and half split cocks, but there is no way of knowing which male chicks are split as it won't be shown visually as whatever 'N" is will take over and be the visual markings. Does that make sense now?

Puppy Update
No name yet as she is a gift for my other half and he doesn't actually realise he is getting her yet so he will have naming rights when she arrives. It's a covert operation on Sunday to go pick her up. I think he likes the name Peppa so he may call her that. I PROMISE more photos

A Lovely Photo
And the ones I've seen around are all fat from not enough work and too much food!

Albinos
That's where you need a cock who is definately split for ino or an ino cock. You need to put your split albino cock to a yellowface hen. All going well you should get cremino hens out of the pairing.

Anyone Have A Link To The Show Schedule
How much were the uncoded rings or whatever they were called? From recollection they had a lower minimum buy, so I might just get whatever the minimumof those was to put on my pet chicks Also if the bird gets lost and someone who finds it has a little common sense they can track down the breeder. If the breeder knows who they sold it to then it may get back to it's owner
-
Tbc
He is mostly likely split for it, see my post just before the pics

She doesn't need to be, the gene is carried on the Y chromosome in birds. Cocks are YY, hens are XY (these are the sex chromosomes) A cock can carry the gene on one of his Y chromosomes and it won't be seen visually because whatever the dominant gene is on the other chromosome will be masking it. When a hen carries it on her Y chromosome she doesn't hav another Y chromosome to mask it so you see it. Does that make sense?

Well that makes sense, my brain wasn't working a minute ago. Marhoo is split so he passed it to his daughter Prince must also be split for it to show up in their chicks
-
Tbc
Unless TCB is sex linked (sorry I don't know) then both parens could be split for TCB which would result in a potential of 1 /4 of the chicks being TCB

Anyone Have A Link To The Show Schedule
Club rings, we have to buy 50 though and we won't use them all this year on our show types so we'll robably use up the others on the pet types.
