  9. Interesting.....is there any way to breed for show birds? Or do they just pop up unexpectedly here and there?
  10. There are a number of things I really love about my budgies: they really lift my spirits, especially when the winters are so lonnnnnnnng by their bright colours, and (usually) uplifting chirping, yodelling, crooning, cooing and singing, I love the fact that they are tiny and yet so energetic, I love their many moods and any signs of affection they show towards me: feeling trusted by an animal is an awesome feeling. I have had some very special relationships with 2 budgies now, who have been some of the best friends I've ever had

Thsnks for answering, Neat, where do you guys learn all this knowledge?? to answer your pm Hmmm, when it happens it usually is first thing in the mornings when I stick my finger in so maybe I am scaring him??, but he hops right on my finger so I wouldn't have said he was panicked. Then again, I am a newbie....But It seems to be more when he's been standing for a few minutes, maybe just transfer of body heat? Or maybe he's hot to trot and desparate man!!Oh and I should add that he has tried to mate with my hand, hooking his beak over my fingernail and wrapping his wings around my hand on several occasions.......

This is perhaps going to sound like a weird question, but what the heck. Georgie's toes get hot sometimes when he's perching on my finger. I am curious if anyone has some insight into this....like why does he have hot flashes on the undersides of his feet sometimes and not others? I just find it the most remarkable, amazing feeling, like his heart is coming right through his feet, but then I wondered if it was normal?
  20. Thanks Neat, I will take a look
  21. Ahhhhh Thanks!
  22. Thanks for sharing/explaining, Elly. I see your points.
  23. newbie question - why does wing-clipping help with taming?
  24. Wow, must be fragile this new. Now what are pin feathers? I'm new to all this.
