  1. Wow I had no idea. Thanks for updating me on the pop culture behind the name!
  2. Welcome: I, too, am Canadian. And I too, thought your art was fantastic. I am envious you are going to Australia, and your birds are very cute! Is this a Roman theme with the names?

oh he is sooooo beautiful!. Lovely photographs. You must be so proud!
  5. Thanks, FGM -- yours sounds like she was a real character. I had a cat once that used to stick his toes under the sheets like a human, and his front paws over the covers, and put his head on a pillow. I'd wake up in the morning scrunched in a ball while he was stretched full length in the centre of the bed!! (Laughing out loud)
  6. How exciting Neat! Keep us updated on their progress...piccies would be great too

  13. Gorgeous! You're quite a photographer, and George is obviously a little ham. Thanks for sharing, love those action shots. You've got a good camera there, too. What kind do you use, out of curiousity?

  16. Thank you for bravely sharing Daz, so that others may know of the risk. I'm really sorry for the loss of your birds, and the personal cost to you
  17. Teacup and Sammy poster version
  18. Good on ya. Nice picture. Why didn't I think of that?
  19. I did try!! I clipped them so short that there was no way they could resemble a beak.. Alas <sigh> the behavior has continuedErin ... quit making them " kissy kissy " smoochies to Georgie. And lose your feather earrings ... perhaps put your hair in a hair net & not have any feathery waves in it. You are just one big sexy Budgie Chicky to the Boy ! Oh ya ... don't be eating any hard boiled eggs in front of him either. YOU TEASE YOU ! :hap: :hap: you guys crack me right up, rubbers for budgies
  20. okay, I confess, since separating my cock and hen, Georgie has been a little desperate. He's been doing his little boogie on my hand then trying to hook his beak over my fingernail. The question is, does this mean he has bonded with my fingernail for life?

Thanks for the reassurance, Elly. I have been monitoring his foot temp. and I think you're right, it's a first-thing-in-the-morning thing, when it does happen. phew
  22. In our newspaper tonight was a photo and story of a security guard in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) who'd brought "Muddy" the budgie into work with him in his front pocket. He got fired, as apparently his supervisor felt this potentially interfered with his job duties. When interviewed by the press, this caring guy said he'd taken Muddy to work because he was being bullied by another budgie, he felt, due to his splayed legs (rickets?) and was trying to protect him. Anyways, by the time the reporter called the guy's supervisor, the story had changed (?) -- the security guard hadn't been fired, but only told not to bring Muddy into work anymore. I don't know, I could see a budgie flying in my face as a potential deterrent to criminal behaviour! The picture of Muddy was very cute, and looked as though he had a case of rickets.
  23. Oh he's such a beautiful bird. He looks like a watercolour painting

Hey Erin, Mate I haven't seen snow since I was 12 15 odd years ago ...... Wow....Neat, if you miss it, I could mail you a few truckloads full. (Laughing out loud)! It was getting hard to see out the windows of the house last week.... Love your Tinkerbell logo...
