  1. I personally mix up the recommended dosage with water and crop feed individual birds... Other than that for mass treatments I do as suggested and with hold all foods except seed Perhaps your vet can teach you to crop feed?
  2. looking good I can spot opaline in there already!
  3. they're not necessarily straight, some may still be masking spangle. Your lutino's are either split blue or you've confused them with creamino's
  4. pairing aphrodite to Adonis will give an outcome of mostly DF spangles

Try and feed the ill chick ASAP and make sure it's super warm, but not warm enough to dehydrate... I've heard of gatorade being helpful as a life saver sue to the electrolites in it, although haven'ts personally tried it myself yet.
  6. Damn! So I have all the luck with the birds popping up but none with the lottery! LOL! Looks like she'll be getting kept now I feel sorry for my fingers!!!!
  7. pielette :D
  8. I'm sorry throwback, I'm one of those manglers!! My defence - Only with pet types!!! I love weird oddities who pop up in the nests, with the show birds I've tried my hand at I keep it as pure as possible, luckily I guess
  9. The pair have been in the cabinet for a very long time. This is their second clutch. Their first clutch produced 1 cobalt, 1 violet, 1 sky cinnamon and a normal sky. This second clutch has produced one sky violet cinnamon, this grey and two who have not properly feathered up yet but look like normal blues, either skys or cobalts. There is no chance of another cock being the father. I do have other grey birds in the aviary, but like I said this bird has been in the cabinet for a very long time, roughly 3+ months or more.
  10. The hen was bred from light green greywing cock and a sky blue split grey wing hen She's a definate sky greywing, no violet in her... Just read the recessive article... very interesting, perhaps that is it ?? I don't know, I'm confused, but the mother is definatly not violet or cobalt...
  11. Violet(s.f) cobalt X sky blue gives = 25% violet (s.f.) cobalts 25 % violet (s.f.) sky blue 25% cobalt 25% sky blue Hang on, will get a picture of the parents :budgiedance:
  12. - throat spots - Rump - Body Yeah, sky greywing hen to a violet(cobalt) recessive pied cock
  13. Oh no it's definatly grey, I've never seen a bird more positive... I'll get some pictures to show you :budgiedance: Her rump is almost black same as her cheek patches Also sky x cobalt can't produce mauves as there's only one dark factor... that gives me 50% sky 50% cobalt... no mauves .. ??
  14. Wings are normal :budgiedance: Although her rump is really dark grey, almost black... I think her grey gives her some super birdy bite though!
  15. They're not bands, but artists I like are Pete Murray and Dido :budgiedance:
  16. Now this is probably a VERY stupid question, but it eludes me as to how I got a dark grey hen from the pairing of a Sky blue greywing hen to a violet recessive pied cock... ? I was under the impression that grey can not be split for as it's a dominant factor and that also it can't be masked by the mutations I have who bred... So where did it come from?
  17. I love Bacardi's colouring, she's beautiful!

They're all so cute! I have a new appreciation for TCB's after breeding my first two now
  19. New

Hi and Welcome You've been given excellent advise thus far and all should be taken into due consideration when breeding Charlie is a YF cobalt/violet recessive pied Bella is a yf sky and something else recessive pied. Do you have any pictures of her wings?
  20. I'm not sure, I've had two birds have this, both live in the aviary fine
  21. spangle can be masked, but not split. But only certain mutation can mask it. Agree the other chicks are TCB's...
  22. *libby* replied to Neat's topic in Budgie Pictures
I am also sure they're TCB all it takes is a Dad to be split to show them
  23. Agree also with the Pied. It could also be one of the badly marked Dom pieds. I have one who's not got clearflights even though all it's brothers and sisters have aswell as it's mum.
  24. Moon light through the clouds? or a back light? makes mine go off, or maybe the rain is keeping them up haha
