Stray Cats!
Work a treat don't they! The great thing is that if they are infact strays then at least you are getting the strays off the street and stopping them from breeding if they are someones cat then at least you are helping return a family pet and hopefully teaching the family a lesson. Someone once told me that a male stray can mate upto three times and day and be sucessful.... a female can have up to 5 litters a year at 4 - 10 per litter!

Cookie The Cockatiel
WEll he is very freaked out, new birds around him and larger cage. I have managed to find him a home with someone who have cockie experience which will be good. Now I have to try and work out how to get him back into a carry cage

Cookie The Cockatiel
No they still insisted that he was a tiel! I think he is a bit freaked about the space he has. I have him in my HQ flight cage which I know alot of people have for 4 or 6 budgies well the cage looks soooooo small with him in it! But it is about twice the size of what he is use to.

Cookie The Cockatiel
to big for the cockatiel cage they had him in. they went to the pet shop and bought a tiel cage and feed him a tiel diet, not sure how he survied the two years but now they are all scared of him, so new home has to be found. i really wish people knew what they where getting into before they purchased birds!

Cookie The Cockatiel
For those who don't know I run a bird rescue shelter and i have gotten all sorts of birds in. Well today I got called about a Cockatiel that needed a new home. Well I arrived and found this... This has to be the LARGEST Cockatiel I have ever seen! Cookie is about two years old and ended up being to big for his owners so they surenderred him to me.

You can do that just watch home much inbreeding/line breeding you do after that. it's hard when you have a plan and it all goes now hill fast! Trust me I have been there. i wanted to walk away after a few different things happened to my flock but stick with it, why you end up with a really nice bub or they do somthing cute you can't imagine not having the hobby. Hang in there.

New Baby To Handraise
Well I am shipping these two off to Pip as they are his birds and I just don't have the energy to HR them. Both are at work with me today making lots of noise and letting the whole office know there are here

New Baby To Handraise
Thanks guys just a bad weekend all around. Hopefully things will start to look up
-
New Baby To Handraise
They are both older and the parents attacked their tails so outside of blood loss and cold they seem to be okay, have feed them three times and they seem active and bright eyes so here is hoping. Really need these guys to be okay as I am starting to feel like just chucking the towel in, also lost a love bird today went out and found it's head missing have no clue what happened really just feeling over it all

Omg I Cannot Believe It!

New Baby To Handraise
Went out today and found the other two kicked out of the nest and both attacked and so I have now moved them both in. Hopefully I can pull these two through

New Baby To Handraise
Well the little guy passed away last night. Got two feeds down him but I noticed that his legs where going black so I figure he had internal issues

New Baby To Handraise
This poor bub really has had a bad life so far. First his father breaks his neck so he became dad less, then his mum decided to no longer feed the bubs so they got moved to new nest, he went to one brother went to another. Everything was fine for a few weeks and then tonight I go out to put them to bed and find that the adopted hen has kicked the bub out of the next and was jumping on it. So I see this flat cold bub I thought he was dead so put him on the bench to go and bury and then when I went to take him out he let out a groan so a quick heat and a crop feed and now he is now in a heat box. Just when I thought I had enough on my plate with Willow the Eckkie I now have a bub to handraise as well.

Kicks Stupid People
Right there with you Carmen, I have rung a few and said that I wished they would cover birds but they all say no
-
Kicks Stupid People
okay I am a member of other forums and on about 3 of them different one people have posted how they think their bird has Cankers or they are producing the red/blood poo or they are swollen but it's okay cause they seem to be getting better and they rang the vet but it cost far to much money and since the bird if getting better then they should be right.... ARGHHHHHHHHHHH stupid *insert words not allowed to be used on forum and kicks a wall* Sorry having it happen once is annoying now I know of at least 10 birds out there in the world which are going to die as their "owner" who claim to love them can't be bothered to ring the vet and say 'I am broke can we work out a payment plan" or really don't want to spend the money on them anyway!

Carmen Do We Have A Photo Yet?
He likes Frozen corn (defrosted of course) was always one of the first to musle his way into the veggies bowl for the corn.

Honey Sticks
Just watch the Trill ones they use to give my Budgie Flame Cere Bleeds! They have glue in them. I found out that Bird Munchies do NOT have glue in them so they are the only ones I feed

Food Variety
don't give up, I tried for 6 years to get Harley to eat veggie. every two days I would give him fresh chopped veggies, frozen ones, grated ones, whole ones and nothing then one day he decided to try a celery top and then BAM veggie monster!
