    they are so cute!
  8. Finally Buddy is in his cage with all the other birds. He seems so happy! I took some pictures: these are links so the pictures are full size "edited" links not working!- scroll down for pictures http://s150.photobucket.com/albums/s98/177...nt=IMG_1146.jpg http://s150.photobucket.com/albums/s98/177...nt=IMG_1312.jpg http://s150.photobucket.com/albums/s98/177...nt=IMG_1373.jpg
  9. guys, good job I am soo lost!!! (completely) lost!!! i think ill do the dominant section again. If i understand what you guys are saying, if the budgie has 2 dominant gene. I have to say if single factor or double factor... and ill also do a section with three dominant genes, if its possible. So is 3 dominant genes possible? i should have never started this topic! (Laughing out loud) Cheeta a + x: its all about one bird, just the amount of genes...
  10. than i believe bluebell is lacewing... (elly, is there a dark eyed clear lacewing???)-that would make sense then... foxy: if not completely black its a cinnamon. It has notthing to do with gender.. maybe greywing but i dont think so. any chance for another picture??? snowdrop is lacewing!!
  11. thats interesting. SO you can only tell if a budgie is a dfs if you look at the contrast of the colour or the iris ring. some people said dfs always have an iris ring, some siad after the first moult... now what is it???
  12. first of all, beautiful flock!! Ill do it in the order you posted the pictures okay? 1. Foxy: skyblue (i think i see cinnamon, are his wings black and white or is the black looking more like greyish brown??) 2. snowdrop: i think albino (if you see brown anywhere its a lacewing) 3. Bluey: sky blue yellowface type 1 opaline 4. Grave: not sure (grey clearflight pied maybe...) 5. Sunny: Lutino 6. bluebell: sky blue dilute (not sure) 7. Breeze: sky blue recessive pied i am not sure 100 percent with anyone of those so daz, feathers, elly, or ellulah will tell you...(those are the genetic expert people right?)
  13. has anyone tried breeding dfs with normal???
  14. i found this website about double factor spangles... http://www.bestofbreeds.net/al-nasser/article19.htm It says this: "I have always liked the DFS and many of our spangle pairings are to produce the DFS. I have found that using DFS enhance the SF spangle wing markings, something that we seem to have lost with our spangles" If you go on the link, it says that pretty much in the middle or end.. DO you think thats true?
  15. thanks ellulah. So you you cant tell without looking at the eyes right?
  16. thanks ellulah. I never noticed that!! But do all dfs have an iris ring??
  17. check out all the trophies in the third picture!!!
  18. I was wondering what the diffrences between double factor spangles and Dark-Eyed Clears are??? I want to get a DFS since if i breed him or her to a normal i will get all sf spangle.... :budgiedance:
  19. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....picture=14887&st=20 i asked that question too. check out the second page where i posted "okay, so what if you have a sf spangle and sf domiannt pied, would you get 100 percent dominant pied spangles??"
  20. great cage!! I was thinking of getting that one too.
  21. Daz, i dont quite get what your saying... 2 dominant (a + x) means that there are two dominant genes that are diffrent. Thats what a dominant pied spangle is isnt it? and i believe there are df spangles and df dominant pieds???
