Nursery Cage, When To Move Babies?
Thanks a bunch Karen. Based on watching them I thought they were ready, but wanted to be sure. I will keep a close eye on them and make sure they are adjusting well to the nursery cage. :-)

Nursery Cage, When To Move Babies?
Thank you Elle. I have the breeding cage set up as stated above. babies are doing very well and the parents are not showing any aggression...........thankfully. I was looking for the time frame for the next step. When are they ready to be separated from their parents and moved alone to the nursery cage?

Nursery Cage, When To Move Babies?
I have seen a post or 2 on this subject but can't seem to find them doing a search. When should I move my fledglings to a nursery cage? My 2 oldest babies are eating seed, drinking water and perching on their own. Heck they can even fly. Is it time to move them to the nursery cage I have set up?

Handling The Chicks?
I had to COAX Star out of the nest at first. A pencil or pen saves your fingers....(Laughing out loud). Now when I open the nest box lid she goes out into the cage. See if she will budge when you open the lid. If not, as I said coax her out. After a time or two, she should get the idea.

Are Grey Flight In A Green Budgie Possible?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm so far he/she is in fact the only one without the dom pied head spot. Interesting to see what comes of the color.

Are Grey Flight In A Green Budgie Possible?
Still very early and I an NOT the best photographer, but tell me what you think about this baby. Flights and 2 middle tailfeathers are definately grey????? This looks to be the only baby in the clutch that does not have the dom pied spot on his/her head. Posted these as links so you could view them better: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u79/djn.../donna008-3.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u79/djn.../donna006-5.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u79/djn.../donna004-6.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u79/djn.../donna003-5.jpg http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u79/djn.../donna002-3.jpg Thanks for your opinions!!!

Parents Mating Again, Oldest Baby Only 2.5 Weeks
okay, i was not expecting this to be an issue this early on. I do not want my hen to go a second round, so the PLAN was to pull the nest box when the babies were big enough. This am Star and Jester were mating again.................ACKKKKKK!!! The oldest chick is 2.5 weeks and the youngest is 1 week. It's to soon to pull the nest box..........so what do I do? ANY help or advice is greatly appreciated, as I said, I DO NOT want Star to lay another round. Also, what do I need to be watching for in the hens behavior, as far as harming the chicks? At what point will she want to start readying the nest again?

Feather Town Breeding
I don't know about 'suiting', but they are just SO wacky I have to use one. I am going to go with Buffy and Snorky. Now I just have to find a name for the skyblue clearwing hen that is with Kazbee. Feathers. ps: no, I don't remember Banana Splits (wierd name By The Way). Training 30 odd hours a week and getting home at around 10pm every night, I missed a LOT of TV in my youth. It's probably why I don't watch much now. We have had Foxtel installed for over a month and I have not watched even 30 seconds of it. Kazbee and Beaker ....a play on the name Kazbee is Beaker.... You have not lived until you have become addicted to the Banana Splits OMG...the ring tone on my phone is their theme song.......(Laughing out loud)!!!! It so fits me *grin*
