Ohh! Geepers! Then I am glad that Cosmo is not a baby-baby! Yeah - I think that given how long they live for - I am more than prepared to wait for him to warm to me! Thanks Elly! Oh, and here is a (crappy) photo of Cosmo in his first couple of hours in our home: (Yes, the background is clearer - silly RAZR camera! Or silly me!?? haha!) My next current concern is that he seems rather flighty. He will 'twitch'/ quickly flap his wings, and squat ready to fly.. Maybe he is still nervous around people/ us? That or his 'baby nerves' are still forming (like a twitching puppy?). I am sure he will come good!

:angel1: Awww! Thanks you guys! This forum is sooo great! I have been looking at the beautiful pictures on here... Makes me want to get a true baby budgie! (That is, a budgie that is around 25 days old). I'm not used to the budgie being scared of hands! I need to find a trick to get him to want to hop on.. I feel like a scared new mum! I really hope he likes me soon! Oh, and I have noticed how much he eats! Cosmo's no budgie! He's a piglet! He won't stop gnawing at a seed stick that my partner got for him. He is even sleeping on it! Deary me!

Gahhhhh! He is so cute! We bought a budgie 2 days ago and also named our new baby boy COSMO! (Inspired by the 'Fairly Odd Parents' whacky kids' cartoon on ABC). Yoiks!

Hi there everyone! I found this forum whilst looking for useful tips on how to tame your new budgie. I found the site pret-ty good, so decided to join. I have had budgerigars in my family for around 10 years. My Mum and Dad still have Yoda - our 10yo boy at their home (my little brother named him - whilst obsessed with Star Wars.. ). Yoda basically grew up in my bedroom and sees me as his Mummy - so I miss him terribly! After moving out of home and spending time at home alone, I decided I needed a little friend. I bought the cage and other essentials, but did not find our new baby until 2 days ago. I wanted to find a happy little one from a breeder, but could not find one close to where we live (I didn'twant to transport the poor little thing in the car for more than 20minutes). We found a gorgeous blue baby boy at a local pet store, and named him Cosmo. I think he is a little bit older than I would have liked, but he will come round. Anyhow, that'll do for now! I hope I can add to this forum in a productive way! Thanks all,
