Whats What And Why?
Thanks soooo much everyone, I will have a look at those sites , I just really want to work out why a spangle is called a spangle and so on, because 2 of my budgies are very similar looking one is more grey than it is blue and the other is more blue, but other than that they are very similar but I am sure they are called completely different things. I'm a bit like a sponge at the moment hahahaha trying to absorb as much info as possible

Cere Question
Thanks lovey, I don't plan on breeding her any time soon, was just curious, because you hear so many different stories, the woman that I actually got her from was breeding them and I am sure she is breeding them as soon as they come into condition no matter how old they are, because I asked her something about breeding at the time and she pointed out another girl that she had there (a lutino I think) in a cage that she said was 3 months old ish and said to me that she was ready now, glad I didn't take her info and just run with it, I want to do as much research as possible before I even think about it

Whats What And Why?

Cere Question
okay so if I have a budgie that has a crusty brown cere and when I got her was told she was 6 months old and would now be 8-9 months old, does that mean she may be older than first thought or just that she is an early bloomer? :grbud:

nathan1 I just wanted to point out that this forum is about budgie's in general not just baby budgies, hence why it is called budgie community forum, not baby budgie community forum..... Not that I didn't enjoy your pics karen

Flight Featherless Budgie!
I have 2 budgies that look exactly like that they can't fly they had pulpitis when they were chicks (which I believe is also known as french molt) so I would have to agree with sailorwolf. I am no expert though but I just wanted to say they look exactly the same. my 2 are perfectly happy they are the best of friends and cute as anything

Ive Got A Big Problem!
okay maybe I did sound a little harsh, but I was just genuinely wondering. as everyone has said this is a great place to get help, I am a fairly new member myself and have found this site and the people involved very friendly and helpful. I agree with what everyone has said in that it would be a great idea to have your birds checked out. Hope I didn't offend that was not my intention

Ive Got A Big Problem!
I'm no expert, but I am curious to know, and please don't take this as me having a go at you, but why didn't you seperate them or do something when they were fighting so much, especially when you say they were endless battles??

He Can't Fly
He is doing really well lovey :offtopic:, I have finally made some progress with his little friend (the girl with him dora) so they both come out the cage for a walk around the lounge room every night, they both can't fly and I think they know it because they are still rather jumpy even in the cage, i'm guessin there that jumpy because they have to be more aware of predator's than a bird that can fly, thats what I think anyway don't know if they actually think like that. anyway yeah they are doing really well, they look so cute walking around my lounge room together where one goes the other follow's, boots ( the boy ) he steps up better than dora but as soon as he does she is rather happy to do it aswell. they still occassionally try to fly of my hands if something startles them but usually I don't have them to high of the ground so they don't get hurt there great I love em to peices, oh and winter and stormy hehe
