Those are gorgeous budgies with really creative names!!! Puts my poor Oliver to shame!! Oliver beacause he is olive hahahah My new budgies which I hope to get in the next few weeks will have more meaningful names hahaha

Yeah thats what i thought!! I was just worried about the wattle flowers. I looked around the internet last night and found several sites saying what trees are good and bad. Wattle was not mentioned on either list. So see what you can dig up if anything.

Hi I found this great branch that has fallen from the fairly strong wind we had last night and it has lots of branches etc that i now my budgies would love to play on. It is from a Wattle tree and covered in the yellow flowers. Is this safe for the budgies or should i not put it in the avairy? Thanks Jodie :ausb:

Hi all!!! My Chucky got her name because when we got her i took her out of the little box and she bit my finger soooo hard she made me bleed!!!! We all know the crazy doll 'Chucky' from childs play? That was my baby. Hehehe Oh and we were told she was a boy!!!! Now Chucky has grown up to be a fairly affectionate little girl who now gets her name from her naughty habit of 'chucking' things on the floor off the table or the bench or anywhere she wants to play!!! If there is something in her way and she doesn't want it there she chucks it. We have lost lots of things from money to jewellery from her naughty little habit. The funniest thing is when an item is too heavy for her! She gets frustrated and screeches at the item!!! We laugh!!! She is so entertaining!!!! I would rather watch her when she is playing than to watch tv!!!!

okay so basically i just gotta be patient!!! Something i'm not really good at :bluebudgie: This might be a dumb question but my breeding boxes are up high on the back shelf of the aviary, when the babies leave the nest they won't get hurt getting out will they? Once they do come out should i put them in a cage out of the avairy to keep them off the floor. (we have micey prob and would hate something bad to happen) Am i paranoid or what? :hap: hehehe Oh yeah and how soon can i touch them? The mum won't reject them if i do? :bluebudgie:

I went out into the avairy today and discovered Matilda has laid 3 eggs!!!!! :nest: I can't belive it. I don't know who the father is because Poppy(who i thought was female) and Harvey both jump in and out of the box and feed Matilda. So what happens now? I'm not sure how long she has had them although i do go out everyday to check on them etc. How long do I have to wait until the bubbies hatch? I guess i will just have to wait and see what happens. It has been really cold here at night so i am preparing myself for the worse. When they do hatch what should i do? If Matilda is pied bright yellow and green, and Harvey is blue what will the babies be like? or if the father Poppy is pied lemon yellow and teal what will they be like? (don't ya just love my lingo?) hehehe There are pics of these birds in my flock section of the forum. Well i'm very excited!!! Will keep you posted on how things are going and I would love all the advice you awesome people can give. Thanks Jodie

Hi Yes lovey Stubby is just like Merlin only i think stubby may be fatter. I also have 3 other english budgies, a bright green girl called Gloria, her man Oliver who is an olive green and George who is A lighter green. I haven't got pictures of them yet. As soon as I get more pics I'll post them. It would also be great if you could tell me what the colourations are. Talk soon

Hi my name is Jodie and I have 13 beautiful budgies!!! I have only had them for about 6 months and most are in the outdoor aviary. They all have names and their own little personalities! I love each and everyone of them!! A friend calls me the weird bird girl because i'm always going on and on about my birds. (I will post some pics as soon as i find out how.) I have 2 indoor birds Chucky and Stubby. Chucky is very tame and loves sitting on my shoulder and getting into all sorts of mischief. She is green with a yellow face. ( i don't know the proper colouration names but i'm sure i'll learn heaps here ) Stubby is a blue english budgie. He is not tame and screeches crazily if you even put your hand in his cage. He was in the aviary until he fell ill and the vet said he would do better in a small cage. He's a little whimp but thats why i love him. Looking forward to meeting some other budgie crazy people!!!!
