  1. I love watching them bath- so much energy and they LOVE it- but after they finish they sulk like "who did this to me"!!!
  2. oowwwww
  3. well done- are any of the new additions from Norms aviary?

Hes gorgeous. He is a Dominant pied not a clearwing. Love the blue dom pieds- the white and the blue is striking.
  5. Ive have wondered that before now as my cock birds that are split do have a slight tinge here and there of body colour, and they have been proven split. Most of my birds are split something whether it be blue, opaline, rec pied. etc
  6. Agree with Cheeta- yf2 spangle for Maricruz and maybe yf2 for Dawson as well he looks more aqua greenish which may actually be blue turned green by the yellow.

Wow love those fellas. 3/4/5!!! You are going great with those birds. Have you any 'good' birds that arent so good worth a look?? (hhmmm that didnt really make sense) But I may be down in a week or 2 if any pop up!! Actually I might chase a couple up to take back anyway (on second thoughts I might make a phone call to a breeder up here first!!) Sorry thinking out loud!! EXCELLENT BIRDS :hap:

Also becareful they dont infect your own birds- I'd hate for you to lose them because of these little ragamuffins!! Agree with all that has been said though!!
  9. Yay, happy for you (and the kisses) they will start to look at you in a whole different llight now. I compare flighted budgies to cats- they kinda look at you funny and only see you when THEY want to- where clipped birds are a little more dependant and remind me of dogs more (hey its late, I have weird thoughts when I'm tired!!)
  10. very pretty' birds, real pastel colours hey. Who are the parents?
  11. OMG I felt sick when I read this- what a horrible feeling you must have had when walking out to see the birds. I've got a picture of your aviary in my head with all the happy birds and I just cant imagine them sick! Good luck to you and the birds, and what an awful way for Ken to learn about toxic plants!! Our budgie toes here are crossed
  12. GEnerally mine get done when I first get them, then they slowly grow out and I then have the choice to do them again if they need it or just leave them. One of mine is fully flighted at the moment, and the other partially clipped (couldnt catch the little bugger!!) The thing is even if you do clip them its not like desexing a dog- flight feathers grow back within a few months if you decide you have done the wrong thing or want them outside(aviary)
  13. Ive watched mice run through the wire on my aviary- concrete floor so they squeeze through. Just thought I'd mention it. Its the rectangle shaped wire though not the square
  14. How could you forget!! Is that Hans blue cockbird? hopefully you get some nice ones from them. How many Showbirds have you now?
  15. good luck for tomorrow night- she is real pretty. I really dont know an answer to this one, maybe going with dilute but next to Lucifer she looks more greywing. Anyone you could email and ask before the big night?
  16. well done on the eggs already- the pairs you have look well suited to each other.
  17. Very cute- I love Curry he just has a certain..something!! It took me a few clutches to get pieds out of my two pieds. She does look it though!
  18. not really sure by the description but maybe she had a stretch and was being lazy and not tucking her wings back up. Was she on the floor or perch?
  19. I thought it was just me not seeing it!! Didn't want to start an argument in case I missed a post somewhere. Yep I would say green Rec pied, the pied behind her looks Dominant though
  20. you won't get 100% Dom pieds even though they both are. But there is a chance there may Double factor Dominant pieds. (unless she is a recessive split instead like mine) I have paired 2 Dom pieds with no pieds before so it is luck of the draw. Chance of: DF dom pieds , Dom pieds, opalines and normals or a mix in shades of blue and green.
  21. there was a thread on that forum re: red budgies about 6 months or more ago. Apparently that one was up close and personal to a mineral block (I think). The guy who owns it is a show breeder in England
  22. Nice birds you have there, really like the first 4 also. Would be happy to have any of them!! Very pretty colour violet at the bottom also
  23. They can also like certain colours- grass seems to be that certain colour!! To get mine to start eating vegies I would feed grass as they loved it, then move the grass to a dish in a certain spot, then sprinkle some corn kernals (tinned/frozen) over the grass. You can use grated capsicum, carrot or whatever mine just LOVE corn!!. Keep it consistent til they try it. Once they do and understand what the tray means they usually try anything. Mine now get into anything I put out there.
  24. Their lovely- love the first 2, the yf grey in the other picture (not shown) has an awesome head on him. Also really like the first male. Can't wait to see their babies- you're gonna have to move house soon and find a few acres somewhere!!

She's a lovely fluffy little thing- Would like to see her when shes older, looks like a hen I have with the fluffy head and markings. MAkes you want to run your fingers backwards over the head and ruffle them up!! I thought it was just the way the feathers were sitting- but I could be wrong- does she feel light(thin) or can you feel plenty of meat on her breast?
