I have also learned the importance of quarantine. Quarantine is just not for budgies either. I quarantine any new guppy that l buy from the store, l bought 4 new guppies from my LFS a few weeks ago and two developed fin rot and died. I treated the other 2 and now they are fine. If l did not quarantined them l would have lost a lot more in my community tank. I have learned how to go about and hand tame my two older budgies. I too have learned that they thrive on a variety diet and not just seeds. One other thing that l learned alot about is all the different types of mutations, l really had no idea there where so many. When l go to the petstore l can actually now know what type of budgie mutations l'm looking at and not just another pretty bird.
