  8. Second day of taming. l was going to take them individually into a smaller room to tame then one on one but l decided to wait a few more days before l do that, since l will be going away tomorrow on Thursday to my grandma's house until this Saturday. Then on Sunday or Monday l'll start to tame them one on one, but in the meantime l will continue to let them get use to my hand. Today's session went really well again, Claire& Hobbes both went after the millet seeds like vulture's. you would think that they where starving They are getting use to my hand, they don't fly away when l reach into their cage, they still don't go on my hand but l could tell that it will not be long until they will. l noticed today that Hobbes would look at my finger and stare at it, he was hesitant to sit on my hand but you could tell that he was thinking about it. so that is a start :fear l manged to get a video and a few pictures; http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a277/lka...e/DSCF02055.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a277/lka...e/DSCF02044.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-nPcztJUAk

  10. that is great that you got him back into his cage good luck with the taming. l'm also trying to tame my budgies at the moment too.
  11. JIMMYB ... YOU ARE EVIL ... beating up an ole lady for her KK's. SAD SAD. Birdluv ... whatsup ? No KK's in your neck of the woods ? I feel for you ... I do. I feel worse for me. Cause I haven't had one either ... But I feel more for the poor elderly lady JimmyBanks has beaten with her own cane to steal her box of kk donuts. It's a sad day when donuts breed violence. Sad .... the closets KK shop is Maple Grove 7851 Elm Creek Blvd Maple Grove, MN approximate distance: 371.57 miles oh well, l guess l will just have to take a road trip to Maple Grove MN, to try some :fear l bet that it would be worth the trip. JimmyBanks you are a naughty boy :hap:
  12. that would be so awesome if you did get a work practicum at Jurong park, what a neat place

I had the same seed concern too...My hubby seems to think that if i put it in one of thoes compost bins that it will kill any seeds :budgiedance: love the HOE idea!! thanks Kaz!!! unfortunately with the composting, it will not kill all seeds. l learned this the hard way. 2 years ago l heard that sheep manure was an excellent compost to use, so off l went and l got a whole bunch of sheep manure for my garden. everything was growing very nicely, until l started to noticed l was getting a ton of weeds in my garden. so l had a whole garden full of daisy's. l spent weeks weeding them out. needless to say that was the last time l would use manure. instead l now use worm gold ( worm poop ) as my compost and it hasn't given me any trouble like the sheep did.
  18. (Laughing out loud) that is good to hear that she remembered you and was ready to go back home. I just might have to fight my MIL for Merlin back as NickNack said :budgiedance:. (Laughing out loud), that is exactly what l was thinking. what have you done Elly, now your MIL will want one too
  19. :budgiedance: OH MAN JIMMYB ... you tease me man ! I have never. AND I mean NEVER EVER had one of those donuts. I hear they are better then _ _ _ well ... just better then almost anything & everything naughty & nice. We have a store/factory outside of Toronto ... it's about 35-40 min drive away out in the burbs & it's open 24 hours. People stand there in line watching the conveyor belt of donuts come around the block for a long long journey to their tummys ! But the line ups of people just walking in off the street & the cars waiting at the drive thru just to get these lovely tasting heart attacks in a box are over 2 hours long. I can't wait over 2 hours for a donut. It's just wrong. Standing outside a KK & trying to buy someones donut for more money then they actually paid for it would make me a kinda lika a ''donut drug junkie'' & the donut seller would end up being called ''my dealer.'' I bet I can be arrested for something like that. DONUT SOLICITATION & Pandering or something. It's not worth it. Someone have pity on me ... send me a KK donut ? Send it in the snail mail ? I don't care if it comes to me all stale & old. I can nuke it in my microwave & get the idea of what it might have been. I just want a hint of what I'm missing. A pathetic donut man. Yours truly. NN l can feel your pain, l have never ever tasted a KK either l always wanted to try one.
  20. The pics are working :budgiedance: your budgie is a she from what l can see and she is a beauty.
  21. Thanks everyone well, l have started today to tame them. l thought that l would let them get use to my hands first, before taking them individually into a small room. l opened their cage so l could stick my hand in it with my secret weapon :budgiedance: millet seeds. l was so very shocked at what happened next..................... l couldn't believe my eyes................... my blue budgie Claire didn't even hesitated and went straight for the millet in my hand, she didn't sit on my hand, which l didn't expect her to but still she came so close to the tips of my fingers Hobbes was more hesitant to try the millet seed so he only took a little bit, also when he tried to take some Claire would push him away. so tomorrow l'll take them into the bathroom individually, so Hobbes can at least have abit more millet seed since little miss piggy won't be there to push him away l forgot to take some video of this session so l'll make sure to try to get some footage tomorrow.
  22. this is very good advice, l'll have to remember it when l tame mine :budgiedance:
  23. l agree with Kaz and Elly. it is just like that old saying, "it is better to be safe then sorry."
  24. Hi, welcome to our forums. your budgie sounds lovely, l like her name. Sorry again about your pics, l think it is strange how the links disappeared?
