  5. YOU CHEATER ! And here I was all ready to send donuts & start up Fund Raisers for your arm surgery ! ( glad to hear you can hang in there with their training .,. lets hope it works soon for you all ! ) oh nooo.....my doughnuts :budgiedance: :budgiedance: that is a good idea to tape record myself and play it to them. l will have to try that out. Thanks Elly. l have some exciting news to tell you all. Tonight before l put them to bed, l leaned very close to their cage and l started to talk to them. They both looked at me with interest, Claire started to come close to me and Hobbes also started to come close to me too They started to climb all over their cage and where very excited. They made me feel so special, l can tell that the training to tame them is slowly working. l can hardly believe it.
  6. can hardly wait to see pics of your aviary
  7. what area of Canada are you from?
  8. Congratulations
  9. awwww....you have such cute Budgies and they seem to be bonding very well with each other l have 2 budgies also, male and female too. what l have noticed with mine, my female acts alot like yours. my male Hobbes usually is always the first to try something and then my female Claire will follow, but there are times where my female will be bold and be the first to explore a new toy or the first to the veggies, she will also come out of the cage first sometimes. l'm in the process of trying to tame them both even thou they are 2 years old, l was very surprised to see my female being the first to take some millet from my hand. so you never know, maybe in time your female will also surprise you and will be more bold then shy. every budgie has a totally different personality, that is what makes them unique
  10. Happy Birthday Frisky!!!
  11. (Laughing out loud), the budgies cling to the side of their cage would make a great picture or video
  12. preen= is when they are cleaning there feathers. Molting= when their old feathers fall off and new feathers replace the old feathers.

l totally understand what you guys go through. when l have small visitors l always have my pets locked in my room. l only let them see my pets when l'm around to supervise them. you would think that the parents would be doing the supervising and not me
  14. very beautiful budgies, they look great
  15. Hi, welcome to the forums
  16. very good to hear, you and Trilby are bonding nicely
  17. (Laughing out loud), l will let you in on a secret...........since my bed is very close to their cage, l cheat , l prop a body pillow near their cage, and also they have a side door on their cage that is very low, so l open their side door and l put my arm through the opening and rest my arm on the pillow, so l can last quite a long time before getting sore Because I know exactly what you mean - I'm always saying the same thing about my birdie! I keep saying - look look she's "thinking" about doing whatever - while in the background my family roll their eyes.. we know different though! :dbb1: oh yes, my family thought l was going cray too repeating myself :dbb1: l'm so glad that l can talk about my feathered babies on here and l know that there are other bird lovers who understand each other, it is so nice. good luck with taming your budgies it is a slow and steady process but if you keep doing it l know that you will have them tamed in no time

  24. I FULLY get what your saying about being "FORCED" into painting something, was my mothers Birthday in February and she really wanted a painting and i felt pushed into doing her one, I just was NOT feeling creative and as a result she ended up with a painting i was really less than impressed with although she absolutely loves it and has placed it in the lounge for everyone to see ARGGHHH .. Okay now by no means am i any good at painting to begin with but thought id show you a few Ive done anyways.. This is the horrid painting mum "FORCED" me to do hahaaa.. Its meant to be the middle of a flower.. here are a few Icky others.. some sketches that i did a while ago.. All the others are not suitable to be posted on here .. My ugly oil pastel Skulls And my odd looking ceramic birds hahaaa http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a289/una...60737Custom.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a289/una...60722Custom.jpg HOPEFULLY they all resized nicely down like i asked them ever so kindly to do .. If not SORRY.. I didn't trust the last two links so changed them your paintings and sculptures are amazing
