Converted Armoire
That is beautiful!!! I want to buy a nice big cage for my birdies, but I can't find one I like on a budget. What a great idea, and that looks so beautiful! Where do you buy the wire mesh? I am thinking of making one instead. Awesome job!

New Picture Of Morgan
Thank you for the advice! Where would I get the fake eggs? When she gets tired of laying on the eggs she brakes them (usually about 3-4 weeks after she lays them), I read in a book that I should let her be with her eggs as much as she wants and if she wants to crack them it is good for the calcium. is this correct? I have a cuddle bone at all times in her cage and she loves it. She eats from it everyday and sometimes she also puts it in her water. Would this be enough or should I get her some for her water? As far as toys I have a box full of them, I rotate them often, but she doesn't play with them unfortunatley. I wish she would, she has so many. Morgan only plays with a little mirror that has clock arms and 2 bells, he loves that one, but he won't play with the others. I was thinking about the crate bottom, this cage didn't come with one, but I am looking for a new cage. I cannot seem to find the right size, they are either too small or too big, but I'll keep looking! Thanks so much for the advice! I liked the "toy boy" part, and the granny mom lol!

New Picture Of Morgan
I have replied your posts on the breeding help forum... I really don't know what else to do, Lizzy lays eggs even if she is in the cage by herself. she's been doing this for years and never had babies. She is a very healthy bird. I got Morgan so she could have company she was not happy by herself and is a lot happier now that she has a friend.... I was just trying to get some help....

Question, Lizzy's Nest Of Choice
I don't really plan to breed them, I know Lizzy is on the older side, but she lays eggs even if she is in a cage by herself (when Loui passed she still laid eggs). Of course I want them to be happy and healthy. I really don't know exactly how old Morgan is, they never told me at the pet shop, what I know is that he wasn't a young baby because his cere was already blue and had gone through his first molt. I guessed around 6 or 7 months and I have him since May. I thought maybe Lizzy could be a "mom" before she gets too old, She's been laying eggs all this time and never had babies. I feel bad for her, because as I said before, she lays eggs even if she has no mate, I have no idea why. She has 4 eggs now, I'll keep you posted. Thanks for you replies!

New Pics Of The Gang
Those are great pics! They are so cute How do the three of them get along? I was thinking of getting another baby in the future, but I heard they need to be in pairs or they'd fight, what's your experience?

Captain Morgan And Finger Taming
Well, we are on week four. His is doing good as far as being more comfortable with his surroundings, but has become a little skittish, he doesn't want to stay on my finger when his cage is in sight :budgiedance: He will fly to it. I clipped his wings last week because he develeped quite a taste for flying and since he is not completley used to my house I don't want him to get hurt. He was not traumatized as I feared, in fact, when I was done he let me scratch his head, with no problem, it didn't seem like a big deal to him, I was relieved. I introduced him to Lizzy a couple of days ago, they are still getting to know each other, but they seem to get along, they only see each other for a little while each day. I don't know if I should wait a little longer to put them together, since he is not as tame as I had hoped. Will putting him next to Lizzy (not in the same cage yet, till they know each other better) affect his taming? Thanks!

Captain Morgan And Finger Taming
Thanks! I never grab him or force him to do anything, Im always gentle never do anything sudden, for that reason, I don't want to scare him. He always steps up on my finger when I let him in or out for the cage, he has no problem with that. He is better today, he had his flying moods a couple times, but he was fine, whenever he is done flying if he doesn't land on his cage I will go to him gently, and show him my finger and he steps up with no problem. My Loui was so easy to train and Lizzy was a little monster, so I don't want to rush him to do anything, I'm taking it nice and easy.

Captain Morgan And Finger Taming
Morgan is doing well, and yesterday he sang!!! He didn't know I was on the door listening to him, he was "talking" to Lizzy in the other room and started singing. I have a question. His wings aren't clipped, and yesterday when I would grab him he would only stay on my finger for a little bit and then start flying all over the room . I have the mirrors covered, I think he just felt like flying because he didn't seemed scared. My question is, should I clip his wings or just let him fly? I know it's good for them to fly, but I don't know how that affects his taming. I think he is just curious about the room and wants to explore, he usually flyes a circle or two around the room and then goes back to his cage. He usually stayed on my finger for a long time but I guess yesterday he felt like flying. I don't want to traumatize him by clipping his wings now that we are bonding

Lizzy
Hi all I thought I'd let you know I made some natural perches for Lizzy and put them front to back like you recommended! She hasn't used them much yet, I guess she has to get used to it. But they look good :parrot: Thanks for the suggestion!

Captain Morgan And Finger Taming
WE are doing a little better every day with our taming, yesterday he finally realized my sholder wasn't all that scary and now he seems to like it (he is sitting on in as I type) Today he let me scratch his head again and fluffed up again, he loved it, it's the first bird i ever had that lets me do that. He's a keeper

Lizzy
Thanks for your suggestions! I will try the new layout, I change her perches around all the time to give her variety, so far she likes one on the top level and one on the bottom the best (that day I had both on top) I will go to the store tomorrow to look for perches to go front to back. I have a natural one I bought for them but she doesn't like it She won't even go on it. I was thinking of making one up from the trees outside, but how do i know they are okay for her? I know nothing about tree species. Thanks for your suggestions, sorry if we went off topic. Whats a good online store for cages? I live in USA

Lizzy
Thanks guys! She is a crazy girl, but I love her. As for the cage, that is the larger size, Morgan is on the smaller size one of that design, for now, but it's temporary. It was a good shape for my Loui who couldn't fly, he loved climbing around it and standing on the sides to watch everyone...Lizzy doesn't seem to mind it either. I am thinking of buying them a new cage in the future, but unfortunalty it's going to have to wait. Thanks for the link to the post though, it's ridiculous how small most of those cages are...

Lizzy
Here's my full figured Lizzy. She's still molting a bit so she is not looking her best, but at least she is out of her "false pregnancy" :hap: She doesn't like the camera much What are you Doing? Lizzy in motion

Millet, Yum!
Thanks guys! He's turning out to be a very nice boy, I hope he stays that way!

Millet, Yum!
Morgan Loves his Millet! I only give it to him when he is out with me. Today for the first time he let me scratch his head, he even fluffed up! he loved it, none of my birdies did that before. Lizzy would bite my finger off, haha. Here are some pics I took today. I am not negleting Lizzy, she is going through a molt and a "false pregnancy" (she laid 4 eggs, even though she has no mate now ) so she is not up for many pictures, I will try and get some soon, she is doing better now. Poor girl. She's not looking her best. But I still love her, haha Here's Captain Morgan You have that camera thing again?

Captain Morgan And Finger Taming
Thanks! He has been chirping more these past two days, Today I had him out and he chirped a few times, I was so excited! He has been shying away from my hand a little more when I want to get him out of the cage, I usually make him step on my finger and he has been fine with that, I guess he is getting a little more comfortable and decides to come out when he feels like it, eventually he does. He ate a lot of millet from my hand today, he is a messy eater too, and I thought my fat Lizzy was messy! lol

Captain Morgan And Finger Taming
Well, Captain Morgan has been with me for a week now. His taming is going very well, he seems more comfortable around me, he looks at me curiously when Im in the room. Yesterday I let him out of the cage, he perched on my finger the whole time while I was reading a book, I have been taking him out a few minutes at a time each day. Yesterday he was out for about 15-20 min all the time on my finger watching me and checking me out. The day before yesterday he ate some millet from my hand. He is still not sure about me petting his chest, he usually backs away, so I don't force it. How long does it usually take for them to start singing again? At the petstore he was a chatterbox, even when he was next to me (thats why I chose him, because he kept coming to me) He only chirped a couple of times when he heard Lizzy in the other room, but no word from him so far when I am there, and I have not heard him sing at all. Just curious, I don't remember how long it took with my other two. Loui was a very shy boy so it took longer for him. This one seems a little more comfident. I'll keep you updated on our progress. Have a good Sunday!
