Baby Pictures
Cute babies! I can't wait to see what the Yellow one (Tassel) will look like. I think baby budgies are so cute, specially when they have their feathers coming out mixed with the baby "fuzz" (as I call it, not sure what the proper name for it is, haha ) too cute, I think thats about 2 weeks old... I can't wait see these guys grow ps: Misty I live in Florida too

I Think We Are Ready...
Thanks everyone! I posted some pics of him in the Photos section under "my new baby" http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=19695 I took him out of his cage today for the first time and he did great, he sat on top on his cage and then on my finger for a while; and even when I put my hand in the cage to put him back he stayed on my finger.

My New Baby
Hello all, I just got another birdie Sunday! Today I got him to go on my finger, I took him out of his cage for the first time, and put him on top of it for a little while. He likes the sound of my voice, he is not too sure about the situation yet, but we are doing really well. I think he's been handled before because he doesn't freak out about hands in his cage, just the usual shyness that comes with a new enviroment. I don't know how old he is, he is not a baby baby, but he seems young to me, he has faint black on the feathers on his forehead, I tried to get a picture but it didn't show. He doesn't have a name yet, I am still deciding, I want to give him a pirate name. (im open to suggestions) So far he's been very very sweet. Haven't heard him make a sound yet, but my mom told me he heard Lizzy this morning and they both went crazy talking Anyway, here are some pics I took today

I Think We Are Ready...
Well, I got a little boy!! He kept coming to me and sang the whole time I was there, so he came home with me. He is not a young baby, his cere is blue, I didn't ask how old he was. bad bad me! He is army green with yellow and black. He's very cute. I will get some pics soon! Thanks everyone for your advice and don't worry, he will not be introduced to Lizzy for at least 30 days, also because I want him to bond with me first. I have to think of names now

I Think We Are Ready...
Hello all! I lost my Loui boy about 2 months ago, he was about 6 years old. I have Lizzy who is about 5 yrs old. I was planning of keeping her as an only bird, but I think she is lonley, she has laid some eggs, and doesn't sing as much as before, so I think we are ready to get another birdie for her. I think I will have to go with a male, she has a strong temperament, so a female might be trouble. Even though I run the risk of having some babies. (what are your experiences with keeping two females?) I will prob, go to the pet shop today and see what I find. Do you guys have any advice from me when introducing them? (I know I have to wait 30 days before putting them together, which is also good so I can spend that time taming the little guy) Thanks so much!!! Now I will have to go research on how to sex the babies, since it's been a long time and I don't know how experienced the pet shop people are.

Arthritis/joint Problems
Thank you all! I was a petsmart today and went to look at the birdies, they were so cute. But still I had Loui in my mind the whole time, I can't believe how much this little guy ment to me, he was my only "boy", all of my other pets are girls. Lizzy seems to be doing okay, I take her out for a little bit every day, I put some toys in her cage, but she ignores them, I have so many toys for them, and they never played with them. She likes to shred the paper at the bottom of the cage. If I do decide to get another one eventually, I'll probably pop in for advice. But for now she'll be a single girl. Elly, Im sorry about Pretty, I think I remember him when you got him, I haven't been in the forum for a while, I'm glad Merlin is doing okay, he is so handsome.

Jack The Nipper !
Aww what a cutie, My Lizzy is a biter, she loves to be on your sholder, but don't try and pet her, she'll bite your finger off, she's a grumpy girl, but funny. She never grew out of it either. Jack is adorable, beauiful color

Arthritis/joint Problems
Thanks everyone! I miss him so much, he was such a gentle little boy, Something's missing in the house without him. Lizzy seems to be doing okay, I think she knew it was going to happen, I had to show her Loui before I took him away (he was in a cage next to her) she seemed to know something was wrong. I don't know if I should keep her as an only bird now, I am not ready for another one yet. She's kind of a wild child, poor Loui was so patient with her. Thanks for "Listening"

Arthritis/joint Problems
Thanks guys. I was planning to take him to an avian vet today (I took him to my regular vet where I work) But Loui passed away last night..... Perhaps he had a tumor like you mentioned, this came too sudden, he was doing great last week... He was about 6 or 7 yrs old I miss him already R.I.P. My Loui boy...

Arthritis/joint Problems
Hello I haven't posted for a while but I always enjoy looking at the pics. I am writing because my Loui is having some issues with his joints. Sunday he would grasp with his left leg and didn't want to use it, so I took him to my vet on Mon. he told me it could be arthritis , his joint felt stiff and to keep him quiet and see how he does. He seemed to be doing a lot better up until yesterday, but today he is not grasping with his right leg, I don't know if its because he was using it so much that it gave up also, so he is not grasping with either one. I am keeping him quiet as dr ordered. He is eating, drinking and going to the bathroom. I was wondering if any of you had similar problems and what did you do to try and keep your birdie comfortable, or what treatment did you do. Thank you so much any advice it helpful. I hate to see him to mopy

Flight Pics
wow. awesome pics! it's never too many for me, hehe. That picture of Hope is great!! All of them are really; I cannot get mine to come out right, whenever I shoot the picture she's already out of the room. I clipped her wings a couple of weeks ago, she was getting a little bit too excited about flying all over the place, I didn't want her to get hurt, when they grow back I'll try again. Thanks for sharing the pics!!

Outside
Don't worry Terri, I always keep an eye on my birds and even my dogs when they are outside. I have a table outside with a big umbrela that's where I put the bird's cage, neither of my dogs bother the birds at all, even when they are out of the cage, they might give them a sniff or two (I always supervise of course) but eventually they leave them alone, the birds aren't intimidated by them at all. Lizzie is actually very fond of my cocker spaniel, well, her coat anyway, she has a long skirt and Lizzie likes to bite on it, my cocker is always running away from her when she does that like "would you leave me alone already?" And Lizzie chases her It's very funny to watch, she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. As far as the safest place in FL, you never know, I live about 45 min from Tampa, we never got hit since I've been her (knock on wood), only strong thunder storms. I have been living here for almost 9 years. I am originally from Argentina. I hope it stays that way!!!

Outside
It was a beautiful day out, I took the birdies out while I played with the dogs in the yard. I've been taking them out for a little while almost everyday. I live in FL, so It's nice and warm for them. I put the cage out while my dogs are there, we rarely have cats in the yard, but my dogs keep a watchful eye, (Laughing out loud) (well, squirrels and birds too, but that's besides the point, hehe) Anyway, here're Loui and Lizzie yesterday, Lizzie likes to bathe on the water dish when I take them out, I ought try to get a picture of that, it's too funny.

They Love Broccoli
Loui would not touch any human food, at all, until I got Lizzie and he saw Lizzie eat it, now he eats almost anything I give them. Lizzie is a little piglet though, I think she has as much fun throwing the food all over the place as she does eating it, I have to get one of those treat holders for them.

Evening Squabbles
My two do the same sometimes, they each have a swing they sleep on, but Lizzy always wants the one Loui is on. Poor Loui sometimes I feel sorry for him, what a crazy "wife" he has, (Laughing out loud) I love that cage by the way, if I had more room I would get one for myself!!
