I just got a new cage for the boys so, now everyone seems much happier. Her are some pics of the layouts: Petrie is much happier now that she is back by herself. This is currently Jake and Elwoods cage. How many do you think this one could house?? and finally, we have our cage that is in the lunch area of the house that is the home to Ceaser and Houdini. What do you think??
  2. Sorry about the origional photos, I'm still getting used to reducing the sizes. As for more pics of ceaser, here are some more. If you need anything else let me knopw I have tones of pics. From the front.. From the side... Another from the side (I love this picture of her!!) From the back....I know this picture is not too clear but it really shows of her deep blue. Her blue is alot darker than either Jake or Petrie so does that mean that she is a cobalt? Also, in the last picture show her wings that we clipped by a so called "professional", I won't be going back there anytime soon. I have been studying the proceedure and will do it myself next time!! Anyway I hope these pictures help!! Let me know if you need more of any of them.
  3. okay, My birds and my family have designed an arrangement that seems to make everyone more happy. Ceaser and Houdini are caged together, Jake and Elwood are caged together and Petrie is once again by herself. All have alot of toys and everything. So I guess what I'm asking is it okay to house birds like this as long as they get an hour or two together almost everyday?? They seem to be more content now that they are separated withthe one that they like, and Petrie is on top of the worl because she is a solatary animal again. She is in love with herself more than any other bird so I think this is a good move for her. Thanks!!
  4. Yes, I have some food shots of their backs. Here they are: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...121bird0005.jpg There is one of Elwood http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...121bird0006.jpg And another. Here is Houdini: I am pretty sure he is a green dilutre, because he was used on another site as an example of one, but other opinions aregreat. Sort of a side/back view. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...budgies0005.jpg And another of him. Let me know if you need any more of te others, I have plenty of pics. **edit - Nice pictures but two exceeded size restrictions.** Moderator’s Message to user **Nice pictures but two exceeded size restrictions** Changed to links.Max size is 450 x 450...
  5. I have asked this on a few different boards and I have many different answers so I thought I would ask you too. Here are a few pics: Ceaser, Jake, Petrie, Elwood, and Houdini Houdini looks so huge in this picture!! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...budgies0007.jpg Ceaser, and Petrie http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...210pets0008.jpg Elwood, Houdini, and Jake http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...210pets0007.jpg Ceaser has an iris ring but Petrie doesn't, and Ceaser has a darker blue than Petrie and Jake. The only one that we are still working with is Jake, he is nice but he still freaks out easily. Houdini loves being with us as long as the play gym is not in sight, so we are still working with him too.

We had a "pool party" for my budgies yesterday. This ws sort of a welcoming of Houdini to the flock because he met everybody yesterday. My mom and I managed to get alot of great photos here are some of the better ones. Hope you enjoy them: A lined up pretty for the camera. Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl, Boy. The boys The girls Don't they make a good couple?!?! Now for some individual pics: Petrie Close up tot he camera!! Jake Elwood Houdini Ceaser, this was taken inside because she broke one of her blood feathers during the party had had to be taken in and treated. She got lots of TLC last night and is feeling like a brand new bird. Hope you all enjoyed them!!!

I am glad that you guys like the pictures. To answer some peoples questions: Yes, Rainbow, Houdini got his name because within the first three days he would run from side to side of his cage and any time someone changed the food or water he would find away to escape and get free. He was really fast to when you put him back in his cage if you were not fast enough he would get out and you could go through the process again. Ceaser is a lover when she wants to be, she is such a sweet heart!! As I mentioned in the first post I had Petrie first and she is coming up on her 5th aniversery with us in June. When I went to add another bird to the house I bought a little one that I named Elvis, but I am sorry to say that he only made it 5 days at the house, that was very hard. Ceaser came next, due to the petstore I bought them at has a 7 day sickness/death warrenty thing. She has been with the family for about 4 years. Once again I got the urge to get another budgie, and added Ozzie, a green budgie that bonded only to me. He got really sick about 1 year ago and we lost him. It took me a while to add anoter to the family but then one day I decided that was the day and came home with Jake a month and a half ago. Elwood came only like a week or two later and was instantly in my heart. I went back to the store the next day hoping he was still there, well you know how that turned out. And once again I was shopping for my four birds and found Houdini, whose silly antics and hilarious personality told me I had to take him home. He has been with us for only a couple weeks. I know you are supposed to quarentine them for a month but they the three boys came here in such a short time that we worked with them all together, and only yesterday were they all introduced to each other. Sorry this is so long but I try to include Elvis and Ozzie when explaining about all of them. Hope you enjoyed hearing our story.

Well let me start off by saying hello to everyone. My name is Melissa and I am a member of some other boards so I already know some of you. I am currently a college student and a professional body piercer. I currently have 6 tattoos and 10 piercings. My birds are my pride and joy, all 5 of them. Here are some pics of them: Petrie, my first budgie and the one that started it all. This is Ceaser, my second little budgie. Jake, baby number 3, Started the recent budgie craze. Baby number 4, Elwood. I fell in love with him and had to get him. And, Finally Houdini, baby #5. I look forward meeting everybody and their budgies and learning even more about budgies. :ausb:
