Well its official I am now banned from the petstore in my area. But, comeon we all know that an even number is better right!?! Well, my flock is even again and I promise that I am stopping for a long time and I am going to enjoy my flock. okay, now for the good part, here are a couple pics of the new edition: She will contrast well with my pastel birds. She won her way into my heart!! Isn't she a doll!! She is a she right? As for names I am thinking of Storm, Raven, or something along those lines what do you think?

Lovey, I do remember those days. Now I have decided that I am only going to get one more just so I can have an even number. I promise thats going to be it. I know thats its either going to be a yellow face type 2 cobalt or a recessive pied like Petrie. I don't know when they will come but only 1. That will make 8 and thats plenty for now. I am glad that you all liked the pictures.

I think lovey and pretty are both great names. Trust me I have been throughthe name switch many times before and it seems to work out fine. So if you want to give him a more manly name I say go for it. As for names that I think of when i look at him there are... Petrie, that could be male or female, and its because he looked like my Petrie. Cirrus, because he looks like a fluffy cloud, and cirrus clouds look like feathers. I also like the name Sky for him. I hope this helps!!! Let us know what you decide.

Well, little miss Dazie has joined the rest of the flock adn that only leaves one more in quarentine:clap. Her introduction went well and she seemed to really enjoy their company. She loves to chase the boys around the room. She is just now beginning to lose her baby bars and she has a tiny bit of tan coming in the middle of her cere. I have a couple of pics to share with you all so enjoy!! A group shot!! So sweet! Ceaser looks thrilled as always! Dazie has a new friend, Elwood. My little, well, big cutie!! Don't Kiwi and Jake looked thrilled to meet Dazie?!? I just love this picture!! My other cutie, Skyler!!! He looks a little frightened here. From below he looks very cute!! So cute!! Hope you liked that installment of pictures. They are all going through a molt so thats why they look all scruffy!

Thanks everyone!!! Well, I have put Kiwi, yes I know it changed again, in my bedroom with me and only me. He has actually stopped. I think that he is just a very anxious, and easily stressed out birds. Over the last few days he has been doing great. I have supervised him with the other birds and he starts the breathing when they get in "his" space like he is nervous of them being near him. When he is out by him self he is doing great!! He still gets to be with the other but only for a supervised amount of time. Once his breathing starts to act up its time to go back to his cage so he can relax. I am still working on the vet trip but its amazing, i haven't seen him do this since the new living arrangements were made. I have been working with my dad at a golf tourneiment so I haven't had a chance. I'll let you know what happens there though!! But, as for now he is doing atleast 10 times better than he was!! thanks for all of your help once again!! I thought you would want an update.

We have had frankie for a little over a month and he has been sort of panting for the entire time we have had him. I never thought of it to be harming him I thought he ws just scared, but I just want to make sure because of my "luck" lately. I am so worried!!! He does it alot, when he's out of the cage and when he is near us. I haven't seen it affect him muchas far as activity or anything goes. Here is a video of him doing the panting. Its usually not that heavy but we were outside while he decided to do a few laps around the back porch and it is a rather warm humid day here in centeral florida. He doesn't seem to do it while he is in the cage much only when my mom and I are in fromt of him and/or if he is out among the other birds. I really hope he is okay. http://media.putfile.com/2006_0406Frankie0001 Please reply I am so worried!!!!

I like the name Plucky. One because thats what happened to him when he was you nger and two because its a cartoon character from Tiny Toons: Plucky Ducky.
  13. Of course I don't mind if you use my pictures, I love having my birds shown off and to tell you the truth I think they like it too. And that is too cute Una!! Again I'm glad you enjoyed them!!
  14. Sorry Riebie I really hope your monitor cleans up nicely!!!

Congrats on both and I can't wait to see the pictures of your new baby!!! I am sure you already have a name picked out :hap: :hap: :hap:
  17. I knew that you guys would love him in those pictures!! Una that is a good idea, too bad there are no kids in the house but I'll definately save these pictures. Karma-k you could say he dive bombed the water. He wasn't to sure of it at first but my mom slipped a mirror in the botom of the bowl and then he went nuts!! Again, I'm glad that you like him.
  18. DROWNED RAT!!! Well since Skyler is now hand and finger tame he had his first bath to clean him up and get all of the dirt off from the petstore. Apparently the bin wasn't very clean because he was very dirty. Any way here are a couple pictures of him: "This is humiliating!!!" "Just look at me, and stop that snickering!!" "Fine, you can get one close up, there are you HAPPY?!?" okay thats all for now!! Hope you enjoyed them.
  19. I'm sorry, but I have to tell some one. My new budgie Skyler is already making huge amounts of progress. He came to our home on Monday morning scared to bits. If you even walked by the cage he would freak out and flutter all around the cage and if you enen attempted to put you hand in the cage it got even worse. Well today I was able to get my hand on him and carry him into the bathroom for out first training/taming time together. We moved into my bedroom and he was still sitting on my finger. He stayed there fro about 15 minutes then jumped on my bed. I layed down next to him and called him by his name and he bagan to preen my arm! I got him to step on to my finger and began to scratch his head, he wasn't sure about it at first but then he tilted his heard and shut his eyes and seemed to really enjoy it. I can tell that he is going to be an amazing bird!! After not even two full days of being home he sits on my finger, preens me and himself, and already loves to have his head rubbed!! okay I'll stop now, but I am so excited!!!!

Well I got home yesterday and found my little surprise Skyler. He is one of the most funyy birds I have ever seen. He is going to join the flock well and make a great controbution to the flock. I have some pictures and a video that we got of him yesterday. He is just sooo sweet, a little shy but we are working on that. This shows his attitude, always wanting to know exactly whats going on. And one with his name!! Here is the video and please excuse us in the background, it was just to funny to hold in. Hope you enjoy it!! http://media.putfile.com/First-Day-Home By the way the other cage that you see is one of the other quarentine cages that we have.

Isn't he just adorable!! I should have the video of him up tomarrow sometime!! He is just so cute. Skyler looks like he is Houdini's twin, but only in a different color. HurdyBirdy he looks exactly like Bunny in those pictures. Thanks everyone for the responses. It helps to hear encouraging words at times like this. I wasn't worried about this board but in the past i have had someone almost blame me for the death of a budgie and thats why my mom posted that message under my name. Again, thanks for everything, it really helped when I read all of the words of encouragement!! ~Melissa

Hi, This is Melissa's mom and she is quite upset at the moment because the little budgie that we just got, Blossom, didn't make it. I told her from now on we are not getting a bird the night that they come in to the pet store. I think thats alot of stress on the bird and the pet store workers don't have time to see if the birds are healthy. Its been a little it of bad luck and Melissa is pretty upset. She is afraid that all of you will be upset with her but trust me she loves her flock and every new edition with all of her heart, so please don't be upset with her and give her some encouragement. Thanks~ Karen
