B.o.m JULY Entries!
Melissa Florida, USA mgray767@yahoo.com This picture is of Tiki and Caeser. These budgies are in the process of becoming first time parents and are doing a wonderful job. Caeser was my second budgie, and has that special place in my heart. She is always the one to come and groom my hair during flight time. Tiki was given to me last year as a gift for starting a new year at another university. I was having a tough day and went into the room and there he was just looking at me. I am sure that these babies will show the full personalities of these two. Both Tiki and Caeser will always have a special place in my heart. ~Melissa :yellowhead: :yellowhead:

Advice Greatly Appreciated
Well Raven is laying on egg number 3 and 4. She seems to have calmed down a little so we shall see.

Advice Greatly Appreciated
This is her first clutch, and she is about a year and half old. Her mate Jake is about the same age but a couple months older. The traffic area is quite low. It is in a bedroom with the other cage and soon to be second pair. I chack the box about 3 times a day just to make sure everything is okay. I will limit that to one if needed. As for the set up there is two perches one lower near the nest box and one higher. Plenty of fresh water and seeds are provided as well as some breeding food. Millet and a honey treat are in there for them to get extra food if needed. They have a cuttle bone and an calcium block in their cage as well. ~Misty

Thanks for the info. I will look into that. I feel like I did something wrong but I know that I didn't. I will definately be asking questions as they arise. ~Misty

Advice Greatly Appreciated
Raven has laid 3 eggs so far and two of them have been eaten. She laid the third one sometime this morning and I am worried that it has no chance. When she is in the box all you hear is scraping and bedding being moved around. What should I do? Does this mean that she is not ready to be bred or that she will not become a good mother? I was getting ready to set up a second pair for breeding. Tiki and Caeser are going to be first time parents too. Should I move the third egg out and put it in the other breeding box that is going to Caeser and Tiki? I don't feel comfortable leaving the egg in Jake and Raven's care. I tried to do research on breeding but expierience is the true way to learn, so as the title mentions, any advice will be greatly appreciated!!! ~Misty

Things Have Changed
Thanks for the information. As for her age I'm guessing that she is somewhere around a year and a half. I brought her home in April of 2006.

Things Have Changed
Well, plans have just changed. Raven was in a separate cage because she was ina bit of a scuffle today, and while my mom and I were checking on her she laid an egg. I am shaking right now, happy, excited, and really nervous. I am pretty sure that if it is fertile that it will be a normal blue. Here are the parents: Jake, a normal sky blue: And, Raven, a normal mauve: Now, I do ahve a question. Her cere has never changed, is this a problem? I'll let you know what happens!!!

Things Have Changed
I have been researching breeding budgies for a while. I definately don't want to rush into anything. However, I have a couple that can't get enough of each other. What would the possibility be if I bred Tiki and Caeser? (I do not know the history of them) Here is Caeser: A Cobalt YF type 1 Clearflight Dominant Pied Hen: Here is Tiki: A Sky blue YF type 1 Opaline Cock: Here they are together:

Meet The Yf Pied Cobalt That Stole My Heart!
Yes, Yes, Yes I know that I have a soft spot in me for baby budgies looking at you from the cages of a pet store and Yes, it has gotten the better of me once again. My mother aka partner in crime were out for the day and UI mentioned that we hadn't been to the pet store in a while. Well low and behold there is one little one who keeps looking at us and making us laugh. So, he came home last Wednesday night. No names yet and suggestions would really be nice. He one of the happiest birds that I have ever seen. Immediatly when he came home he started to chow down on his food and call to the other birds. As of right now he seems like he is going to be a great human companion, he is already perching on fingers and running around his cage like hes been there for years. Anyway heres what you all want pics: A nice shot of the wings... He looks so proud!!! And of course the famous head shot..... I am sure there will be more to come, plus I'll try to get an update on the other 12 for ya. ~Melissa

Ceaser Preening Me
I think Ceaser knew that today was her birthday. She was in a real suggly, loving mood which she is never in. She was in love with my face, especially my nose piercing, and my hair. Here are a couple of pictures and then the video. "I love hair" "Here let me fix this you have a hair out of place. "I can almost reach it!!!" Here is what she is most interested in: My nose stud. Now for the video, please excuse the laughter, I was trying to hold it back. Enjoy: Ceaser Preening Me
