  1. Yep.....easier to catch birds in two flights than one massive one. Also with show types you design so the perches are high set up one end and the food on a lower platform at the other end....good for shoulder and neck muscles to fly down to eat and up to perch.
  2. I think our block is around 800. We are amidst semi rural and there is no limit on numbers of birds.
  3. We have started attaching all the framework to the existing birdroom and doing the support legs etc. Here is the new floorplan

  8. Please post a picture of her. Is she the age do you think that she was actually sold to you at ? Or would she be an unweaned baby ? Has she a poopy bottom ? Is she thin ?
  9. It is an old wives tale about budgies mating for life. They move onto the next "relationship"in the blink of an eye .
  10. Dad isnt recessive pied. Mum is but dad is dominant pied.
  11. Looks like you will enjoy the birds from your kitchen window Dave and sit on your patio having a cuppa watching them too :hap: Good luck with the tree. I had a 60 ft gum tree removed at my other house once as it was leaning towards the house and the root system wasnt holding it in place.
  12. Our vet list here...... http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=21279 I use Tim Oldfield at Wattle Grove Vets. He is excellent.
  13. If they are better than any other spangle they are up against they do.......I had a hen that made it onto the top bench and she was cinnamon spangle....beat the pants off the normal spangles. Julie............I think you will be surprised at how well you will do with your birds, now and in the future.
  14. Show type budgies are a quieter natured budgie than pet types as a rule But I also handle my babies daily from the point of hatching.
  15. Naptime in the kindie cage
  16. I also hung some swings in the breeder cages where Dads looked bored while their hens sit on eggs
  17. TF is the breeders code. 08 is the year of hatching ..........2008. 4453 is the number of the ring and number of the bird.
  18. I do the same as macka....I use spot on for incoming birds or birds I handle or notice need it and I use ivermectin in the water for aviary birds.
  19. I just put some of these swings in the kindie cage. Took all of a few seconds and they are occupied
