Omelette's nestbox Her daughters eggs

I had an aviary that size, and its not really a huge space at all, ......I couldnt imagine tiels in it too with the budgies as they always seem to need more space for flying. Might be just me. You arent planning on breeding in there too, are you ? I also had a fully planted out aviary till the budgies went in.....nothing green and edible lasts the distance. A fully planted out aviary with established palms lasted about a week till there was nothing left.

Its slow going as ken has a foot injury anjd ladders dont agree with him. We have removed the exterior panels from the birdroom and we are putting up the framewortk for the patio section we will be making the flights out of. Hopefully tomorrow the framework will be done. We were out chasing up parts today and concrete etc. View down backyard, showing the birdroom on the left ( as per drawing ) and the gap that will be the front of the flights, with the smaller aviary to the right and Kens aviary further over to the right. Excuse demolition site Righthand end of the birdroom where we are attaching the framework for the flights.

Welcome from another newbie. Robynjust a query for other's who replied, in the pics Minx's cere looks blue to me so how do you tell it's a hen? New to this just interested.Very pretty either way.When the blue you see has a lot of white with it then the bird is a young female or a female NOT in breeding condition. Its the presence of white with the paler blue that makes it female

With melamine floor its easy cleaned...newspaper on top and scrape the melamine with a wooden scraper and all is good I dont use trays.

You know, its actually not that hard to make them. Buy cage fronts, buy white melamine and make up the carcass section and dividers, attach cage fronts and hang nestboxes off the front.

Yeah it was ply. I'm just used to steel trays I suppose. Also, the nest box was on the inside so there was only room for 1 perch. Not sure I would be happy with that. The reduced price isnt even cheap enough to make you want to race in and get them..................so nestbox inside would put me right off. Double here $75 normal price.

We were fortunate to be able to watch a demo on A.I at our club meeting once. Interesting to say the least. I can honestly say I have never, before that day, sought out a budgies "nuts"and felt them like I did that day Interestingly as I recall we were told, there can be differing parts of the day or week where a budgies "nuts" can be felt due to sperm being present or not. no sperm and there will be nothing to feel. Well thats as I remember it anyway. Our lecturer is a member of this forum I know of the DVD and will be purchasing it myself with a view in mind to trying the process to assist where normal methods cannot take place.

What kind of wood ? Plywood or mdf ? I had some old cabinets given to me once that had plywood trays and they lasted the distance but I used newspaper on top too. MDF would get spongey. All wood can harbour red mites if you get any go through your birds though. Spraying all wood with A.I.L helps a lot.
