The Role Sunlight Plays...
My birds in the aviary get direct sunlight as much as they want or need. To bring them into the birdroom for breeding without direct sunlight should not cause an issue. People all over the world have indoors budgies they breed with much less access to sunlight, and many aviaries and birdrooms especially in the UK are all indoors and they rarely see the sunlight. There is that very good product now too SOLUVET D Essential vitamins and minerals, fortified with Vitamin D3 to promote health and breeding of birds housed indoors Designed for Bird Breeding Farms, Zoos, and indoor aviaries.Limited exposure to sunlight may result in Vitamin D Deficiency. Dont be too quick to put Marigold back in nestbox or not. She may be inclined to hassle Skye for mating anyway and he will be distracted from teaching his chicks to eat. She could use the break away to get well again and fed and back in good healthy condition after breeding.

Ratzy's Breeding Journal
It a dominance thing and also the males sometimes get confused by the chicks begging to be fed as it resembles the hen begging to be fed at mating time as well. Watch and be sure he doesnt hassle the chick to much. You cant remove him as he needs to teach them how to eat. Make sure food for the chicks is in the tub and also on flat trays easily found by the chicks.

Fantastic !! Great job Splat !!- Is This A Good Breeding Setup?

Nestboxes can be found in any bird supply store or stockfeed places that has bird stuff. You have nestboxes already anyway. Until you can get the right set up I suggest you remove the nestboxes from the cages and dont allow them to try and breed in those cages. Cages of the type described are approx $40 to buy. You can see breeding cages on ebay all the time or buy from your local trading newspaper.- Hi, New Member
What makes you think it is a spangle ? There are no spangles there.- Ratzy's Breeding Journal
Tell Mum they have feathers ! AND at this age they are near on leaving the nest anyway.- Is This A Good Breeding Setup?
NO..............cages far too small and in adequate for breeding. Cages too small even for normal housing of a pair of budgies. Nestboxes inside the cage makes checking them near impossible as well and taking up even more space in an already too small cage. No room to fly across the cage in displays of mating behaviour. Inadequate perching. Some perches over food and water. You need something more like this Cage at least 2 feet wide ( 60cms) by a foot and a half deep ( 45cms ) and a foot and a half high ( 45cms )- Photos And Videos
It shouldnt matter what computer you are using, you still have to upload to a photohosting site like photobucket in the same way as described above.- Is He Ready To Breed?
SOME not all. But here we are talking about a cock bird just through his first moult, first sign of colour on cere and most likely no older than 6 months. Its like asking a ten year old child to father and raise a family.- Breeding Pairs 2010

Your set up looks great- Ratzy's Breeding Journal
Please take the nestbox OFF and put the tub back on the floor of the cage. Make sure Marigold doesnt go back in the cage....give her a fortnights holiday in a seperate cage not next to the others. Please tell your parents that the advice you get on here is from expert breeders. I would be older than both your parents I expect. Tell them its not other kids advising kids. There is little point in you asking for advice.........getting it....and then not being able to do whats been advised. PS Your parents can talk to me by PM of they want.- Ratzy's Breeding Journal
The babies are old enough to be out................if they are in the nest sometimes they dont get fed. Better to remove the nestbox completely and use the icecream tub. Maybe your Mum and dad need to be members of this forum as it seems you always have to get ppermission to listen to our good advice or use what you learn here. Its frustrating for us who advise you and your parents then turn it around- Jetrick's Breeding Journal
Nobody else is having a problem................try looking up top right .............OPTIONS Box and select standard.....see if its that- Breeding Pairs 2010
Prolapse I hate seeing that....sorry for the loss Dave- Identifying Breeders
Find out who the ring registrar is for SA and then send them an inquiry.- Ratzy's Breeding Journal
If you arent quick to sepperate marigold she will beigin another clutch. Put some low perches in or a branch from floor up to a perch for the youngsters.- What Might The Results Be?
As you are a Pet type breeder it doesnt matter about mixing combinations- Is He Ready To Breed?
Bad advice Jeddo. Think before you post.- What Might The Results Be?
Then I would suggest it is double factor dominant pied and since markings are light around the head area it may also be greywing. - Show Results
