We say 2 weeks becuase that is when they get the nice fluffy bodies and are able to hold their head up with ease. 2-3 time a days is about the normal for a max of ten minutes for hand taming training. Guest Lin
I just handle them, and leave the feeding to Mum! Just lets them know that this gigantic hand that rips it out of it's nest box, is attached to a nice soft voice. When they are about 4 weeks old I will offer them millet or fresh veg from my hands too. Link to comment

Now I take all of them from the box together. Sometime just cuase I want to I will take one and cuddle it alone. Also so they learn this thing isn't going to take them all the time. Link to comment

They are a more manageable bird in the longrun. It is a good way to keep a check on their health and their feeding. In this way, I was able to work out a Mum and Dad had stopped feeding thier only baby and I then had it fostered to another pair. Positive outcome...this baby fledged today healthy and happy. Whenever I put my hand in the nest box it runs over into the corner and sometimes when I go to pick it up it starts squaking. Link to comment

The scream in the wide to try and 'chase' away the thing getting in the box and for mum. At least that's what I think. Just pick him up and keep handling the squeaking should stop after a while.
