Now, I am finally going to get a new budgie, and I'm thinking I would like to get a male, for a slightly different experience. However, I want to get a handfed baby, which will obviously be too young for the cere to have changed colors, and I'm not experienced at sexing young budgies. If you guys could teach me a bit about it so that I might be able to pick out a male, please, do tell! Any pictures as examples or just descriptions would be great! Link to comment

What is the main difference between baby hens and baby boys? I notice some of the girls seem to have lighter ceres with a slight ring around the nostrils, but I saw that on a few baby boys as well. Rule of thumb is any white on a cere is female even if there is blue with the white Link to comment

I've been looking at all the previous posts and trying to guess the sex before looking at everyone's answers, and I think I'm getting the hang of it Link to comment
