  1. Of course the hook is more entertaining than the actual toy! She's too adorable!
  2. I have to say Milly and Squee are my two favourite budgie girls! They're just way too cheeky looking, they're gorgeous! I love that last flight shot.
  3. They all just finished a heavy moult, so i respectfully didn't take too many photos of them during their pin feather stage. I know how sensitive these boys can be about their looks. I think Blinkie in particular is happy to be pin feather free now!
  4. Well, Ozzie's not so little, lol, but you know what i mean! I love this next one, you can see Fizzy wondering why Ozzie grew so big and he stayed so tiny!
  5. Looks a lot like my cage which came in 5 pieces (for the actual cage). The front and the back which were obvious, then the sides which you placed so that the grate holding bits faced inwards down the bottom, and then the roof. The whole lot sat easily on the stand once it was put together.
  6. I don't think they would be happy with importing birds you can already purchase here in Australia anyway....even if they are outrageously more expensive. I think an african grey is about $800-$1000 in the US, and $4000 here.

    I Got In!

    Congrats!! That's so exciting!
  8. I guess i never thought to post it. I got the idea to use paper patty pans in toys from there, as well as lots of others. It's a great site.
  9. I use that website ALL the time!! I love it!
  10. That is such a wonderful thing for the person to do for you. It sounds like Giffy is a very lucky fid to be joining your flock. I was thinking, if you lost a galah wouldn't it be quite tricky to find again with all the wild galahs we have in Australia? Unless a galah specifically flew to me or didn't move away from me i would assume it was a wild one.
  11. :hap: I won't, my fingers would feel the consequences of throwing any of the other fids into the limelight.
  12. I so need that sign!!!! It's brilliant!
  13. Here's just a few photos i took of the budgies this morning! Blinkie relaxing on his swing....until.... *screams* Attack of the Fizzy! Then Ozzie came along so there was no room for Fizz, and the peaceful boys could relax in peace.
  14. I just wanted to chip in and say that i have an aviary exactly that size and i currently have a very comfortable 23 in there, but have had as many as 28 (getting a bit on the squishy side). The important thing to remember that having plenty of perches is the key to how many birds can fit in an aviary. They do spend the majority of their time sitting on one perch or another after all!
  15. Judging by the gorgeous views of bushland, i'm extremely jealous of where you live!! :(Laughing out loud): I would love to be in a country area with big aviaries like that. I love all your birds, and your dogs are just beautiful!
  16. You've got such pretty budgies! That first picture is great.
  17. My dad has been to the bird park. He said it was great!! I would find all those weeks of work experience so daunting! :(Laughing out loud): Sounds like you're going to be busy, but it also sounds like it'll be so much fun!
  18. I could only find the one lizard too! Great photos! I love the one of the elephant.
  19. I've always thought those look fun, but i know my guys would be too scared to use them. :rip:

    New Aviary

That's an awesome aviary! Can't wait to see pics of your budgies enjoying all that space.
  21. What a beautiful baby! Are they the parents of the three grey babies i got off you?
  22. Polenta instead of cornmeal works perfectly Kaz. I've made birdie bread for my flock using that. This was the recipe i used: 1/2c wholemeal flour 1/4c polenta 1/4c crushed pellets and/or seed 1 whole egg pinch of baking powder (optional) 1/2c water or fresh fruit juice (i.e. homemade) 1c chopped/grated veggies, fruit, nuts, etc (try to squeeze off as much of the liquid from the veggies and fruit as you can) It looked exactly the same as Ravengypsy's does in the pics but more vegetable-y.
