Even Without The Boxes Up!

So yesterday after work, Katie & I are doing our birdie chores, when Kate squeels out in delight. There is an egg in the aviary on the floor!

I am pretty sure it was from Stumpy & Tweety's two timing husband Sylvester. They are always loving on each other lately. I checked over Stumpy and she apears to be the guilty one!

I had a very serious chat with her and informed her that there are to be no more egg & no babies THIS year! I bet she didn't listen and there will be an egg there again tomorow! :D:

Oh dear. I had an experienced like that. I found an egg on the floor in the aviary and wasn't sure who it was, but had a suspicion that it was my Lemon girl. and sure enough, the next day while I was talking to my mum on the phone, there's Lemon sitting on the perch and letting one drop!! it broke of course, and I let out a little scream thing and shock my mom, and now Lemon is indoor with Hope.. another girl.. no more eggs from her. hehe... Good luck with your girl.

I found a spare egg in the aviary today and put it under Spook. It was still warm and I think it was Bonnie's as she was ready but hadn't got her nesting box yet. Could be a good egg.

(Laughing out loud).. I like how you use the term 'spare' egg... it's kinda cute.. hehe

Poor Bonnie, will she get a box soon??

Guess so. There are spares. She's too busy kissin an a cuddlin with Clyde. But now that I have leak proofed the roof she may not be as fussy about her nest. :D

I hope she gets into a nest box. :D more babies for us to look at. :D

Dad (Clyde) is househunting as we speak. Also after his moult his colours have come through more vibrant. Often called a cobalt male (he throws violet babies) he is now a vibrant sky violet. Sky violets can be mistaken for cobalts. Bonnie is cobalt but he is more so. I would say he is a true sky violet.

We'll it will be interesting to see if she laid another one today. I hope not, (Laughing out loud)

Well she hadn't laid an egg for over 1 week, but she has that buldge again! so I gave up, I pulled her and sylvester! they are now in a breeding cage as of yesterday. He seems very excited and keeps hopping on & off the box, she keeps going in & out not knowing what it is!

Popeye & Olive must not have liked them getting all the attention, they proceeded to "make some babies" too. ugggg

My sister wants these babies so I wont be keeping them all.

I will keep you updated :-)

  • 3 weeks later...

She laid egg #1 today!!

I think I read this some where else :P

Well Done :)

egg #2 saturday, but shes not sitting on either of them!

egg #3 monday and as of yesterday, she is finally sitting on them!

egg #4 yesterday (wed)

How many more eggs to you think she will lay.. or is that her lot?

if i remember right, this is 7 total, she should be done soon!
