Iris Rings

What types of budgies don't have an iris ring?

I am thinking recessive pieds & lutinos/albinos

Danish Dominant Pieds don't have Iris Rings..

lutinos and albinos have iris rings.

Dark-eyed clears and Fallows shouldn't have an iris ring either :)

Recessive pieds for sure and my unique Tobi girl, nobody has come up with the reason why my yellowface opaline spangle has no iris rings.

lutinos and albinos have iris rings.

So Bea do they have iris rings in the red and plum of the eye? Here is why I said what I said (I can stand to be corrected still learning) - I use this because I remember someone saying you can't tell if they are a DF spangle, and this is how I read the differences.

Genetically double-factor spangles are all yellow or all white (depending on base color). You can tell a budgie is double-factor spangle because its irises lighten normally with age. Comparatively, lutinos/albinos have red eyes and dark-eyed clears have dark plum eyes throughout their lives. http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/p_colors.html#spangle

The whole thing baffels me!

I dont see a ring on my albino

I do see a ring on my lutino

and both my dec's have rings....

but I am stumped on salsa... her eyes are totally black???

(Laughing out loud)

Salsa is the female with the white cheek spots

she won't have iris rings, she is a recessive pied that is why

your other one should have them or will get them he is a dominant pied.

Thank you lovey!

I am useless when it come to mutations...

i say nice blue bird

nice yellow bird

you get the point!

(Laughing out loud)

Does she have red eyes or am I seeing things?

The the dec that has rings where in fact double factor spangles they both look the same.

Ino have normal rings Karen as a picture floating around here that shows it clearly.

Hi Nerwen

They are actually black, i think the flash made them look a little red.

ohh my, so i dont have dec! (Laughing out loud)

I'm going back to blue/green/yellow/white etc. (Laughing out loud)

Absolutely gorgeous yellow and green bird you have there!! :(

Cause you're lucky!! :ausb:

The eyes look black..... :) I'm assuming it's just the photo.

Yep, it's just the picture, she is 100% albino - she is my foster mum whom I gave yet another baby to today.

She is so sweet when she accepts another baby! :)

Karen are you sure she is an albino. She looks like a double factor spangle???

Yep, she is 100% albino alright!

Why'd you think DF Spangle? She isn't in breeding condition but she is fostering.

so her eyes are red? It's weird how the camera can make the eye looks soooo black!! I have to try that with my albino.. :ausb:
