Posted April 4, 200619 yr i noknow males have to be at least a 1 year old to mate but what about females. Moderator’s Message to user not sure if your using a short cut there or english is your second language. The 'no' you wrote mean I'm not doing something where as the 'know' you meant to write means to understand. Please remember short cuts are not allowed on this board. April 4, 200619 yr The same. 12 months minimum, preferably 18 months. And you shouldn't use a hen which is over 3-4 years for breeding.
April 4, 200619 yr Because after that age they are getting too old and the strain of breeding (laying, raising) becomes too much for the hen. Also, the risk of egg-binding increases.
April 4, 200619 yr I am sorry but I am getting on my bandwagon here, WHY is it so important to you to breed these guys, is it really the best thing for them to do? Think about the birds, they are pets as you have so few, they are not breeding machines. :rip: And I refer to your other posts, something is not really right here. Edited April 4, 200619 yr by Phoebe
