Hi was wondering what sought of pens/markers are used to number eggs?

Tks Alan :(

Non toxic kids markers

The one I used was Artrite. Found in Woolies for around $1 for a packet of 12.

I've just got a soft kead pencil but I like Nerwen's Idea.

So long as it is Water base and non toxic it will be okay. :hap:

Well the one I used was the only one I found that stated it was BOTH non Toxic and water based. I was lucky and found it when it was 50% off :)

Thanks very much for your help.

I was wondering, can Sharpies be used, or do they have to be nontaoxiable washables, sharpies are nontoxic but are permanent

Egg shells are porus and "Breath" any toxic substance that is applied to the egg shell can be drawn into the egg and effect the chick inside. This includes what is on your fingure tips when you touch the egg.

I use a perminant non toxic marking pen and have found no problems.

I also wash my hands in a disinfectant before touching the eggs.

so with sharpie being a permanent nontoxic marker, it would be safe to use to mark the eggs?
