March 31, 200619 yr I've just got a soft kead pencil but I like Nerwen's Idea. So long as it is Water base and non toxic it will be okay. :hap:
March 31, 200619 yr Well the one I used was the only one I found that stated it was BOTH non Toxic and water based. I was lucky and found it when it was 50% off

June 9, 200619 yr I was wondering, can Sharpies be used, or do they have to be nontaoxiable washables, sharpies are nontoxic but are permanent
June 9, 200619 yr Egg shells are porus and "Breath" any toxic substance that is applied to the egg shell can be drawn into the egg and effect the chick inside. This includes what is on your fingure tips when you touch the egg. I use a perminant non toxic marking pen and have found no problems. I also wash my hands in a disinfectant before touching the eggs.
