I'm New And So Is My Budgie

Featured Replies

Your bird is adorable. Looks like my Tweety. Here is a picture of her at 7-8 weeks (I think). Next to her is my male around the same age. See the difference in their ceres. Perhaps that will help you.

My little one does look like tweety. This might sound silly but sometimes the cere looks like Tweety's and other times like the male. So, what I have been doing, for a couple of days, I'll call him "him' and then switch to "her" for a couple of days. Really! Just when I think it's a male it looks female and visa versa :(

what a perfect shot for her Shawna!

I HATE when this happens! You buy a bird, think its one sex, then others think the other sex, and it ends up being a different one then what you thought of!...(Laughing out loud)..Tammy's case is like my Tangos. The 1st day home, his cere was pink with blue, then second day, it was white rings around the nostrils, then from then on, it has been pink, blue, and white...But 'he' doesnt sing, isnt active, and likes to chew branches more than play with toys..which sounds like a female to me, but the cere is all pink now, and everyone else thinks its a boy...which i hope he is! This is just like your case Shereno! Maybe our birds should get together!... (Laughing out loud)...

Yesss!!! That is exactly what it is like.....wow....maybe they should get together :-) I thought I saw him feeding my bag. So I thought, a boy...but....maybe he doesn't know what he is :-0

What name is given to the coloring of sweetie...is it spangle and pied or something like that?

:( They are beauts! Give them unisex names for now.
