Posted March 6, 200619 yr My name is Brittany and I just got my first Budgie yesterday. Im a newbie to this forum and i signed up today, I just wanted to say hello and introduce the love of my life Zoey. We got Zoe yesterday and I love her more then anything. its amazing how attatched i became in such a short amount of time. We bought a very roomy cage for her with 3 diff perches and a few toys. I realize that she probably wont use these toys for a little while until she is more comfortable but she seems to really like the top perch and a seed treat with honey that came so i could attatch it to her cage... (idk what its called). Once i can, i will get pictures of her and her cage for you guys. We also got her a cuddle bone for her beak, and a bath so she can bathe when she wants. If you have any tips for me that would be awsome because im a newbie at budgies. I printed out a page on hand taming your budgie and it seems like it should work so I am going to go by that method, because my budgie is still young. I checked her tag and it says that she was born in 06' so she is still pretty much a baby. I have a question though, I'm not sure if it is stress or boredom... but she has this thing with picking at her feathers. She is completely healthy, but im not sure if she is just grooming herself or anything. Again, im a newbie. So if you guys could help that would be great :D Thank you for listening. March 7, 200619 yr Nice to meet you and it sounds your doing all youc an for your little Zoey What colours is s/he? Is there a way we can see a picture at all. We all love seeing their sweet little faces. Just be sure to give her the bath while you are there and watching, not keep it filled all the time. As to the picking/grooming. Budgies grrom a lot and they check each and every feather by running it through their beack, if zoe isn't pulling the feathers out I don't think you have a problem just a little one that feel safe where s/he enough to focus on grooming rather than what is around.

March 7, 200619 yr Hi Brittany - congratulations on getting your budgie and welcome! If you go to www.photobucket.com.au and register, you will be able to upload your images to that website, then when you preview them, in the box under your photo it will have a URL that you can copy and paste when you are asked to... Good luck and let me know if you need any more help! Can't wait to see pictures of Zoey!!

March 7, 200619 yr hi and welcome! congratulations on your new found friend. Her feathers do look a bit dog eared. i would suggest a vets visit to make sure she is okay, as a precaution. the vet should run some tests to check she is alright.
