Posted March 4, 200619 yr The board is getting a lot of baby pictures lately so I figured I'd post the newest Pippin and Peregrin Took pictures. Might as well add to the cute explosion! Peregrin Took on the left, Pippin on the right. Peregrin is more observant while Pippin is always looking for something to climb on/in/around/etc. I believe he'll grow up to be the spokesbird for prepositions themselves! (All the birds are getting into the spokesbird business, might as well start early.) Now, they have switched. Peregrin looks a bit unsettled about being on the right. There we go! No more ruffled feathers for Perry! (Note his less-than-stellar wing clip. Bleh, I think someone used him to practice or something! I had to actually get it evened up myself and believe it or not, this bird can fly a greater distance than Pippin who has a very neat, acceptable clip. I cannot wait until they're flighted!) I wish the flash hadn't messed this one up because Perry's expression is ADORABLE. The cage in the background is covered to keep them from spending all their time trying to get to it, by the way. They also moved to a larger cage tonight because Pixel is back in with the other budgies (so far at least; they did great all day so I'm just listening for any bad budgie sounds tonight). Again, cursed camera! Peregrin's cute overwhelms it!! Stop looking at Pip's chest. >:/ It wasn't so huge tonight. I think he's learning how to eat normally already. Pesky floofball!! Sometimes I think Peregrin gets a little embarrassed by Pip's antics. Pippin preens while Peregrin pretends not to know him. Pippin: *FLOOF* Peregrin: Good god. Pippin: I'm sorry. I will try not to embarrass you anymore. Peregrin: Aww, it's okie! I cleaned Pixel's temporary cage and gave it to the babies. They seem to really love it. A bit more roomy. :glare: Most of Pip's pictures make his nares look ringed with white. This shows more of their true color so I'm 99% he's a male (and pretty much 100% sure that Peregrin is). What do you guys think?
March 4, 200619 yr Oh my, I love the floofball picture. And your right, what a horrendous wing clip! The things some people do to birds!
March 4, 200619 yr Awww! They're so cute! :glare: To me Pip looks female and Perry looks male. Although, every single one of Blinkie's photos as a baby made him look female so you never know. Edited March 4, 200619 yr by Bea
March 4, 200619 yr Oh my, I love the floofball picture. And your right, what a horrendous wing clip! The things some people do to birds! Yeah. Well, it's not bad in a harmful way at least. He's not falling like a rock so that's the important thing. It just bothers me that people make something so simple into something so difficult! It's so easy to just clip a few of the VERY FIRST feathers and leave it at that. I wish I could hear what they're thinking when they do this..like the thought process that messes the entire thing up. Probably goes something like "Duuuuurrr..." Awww! They're so cute! To me Pip looks female and Perry looks male. Although, every single one of Blinkie's photos as a baby made him look female so you never know. Thanks! Yeah, in all of Pippin's pictures (except that last one) he looks female. I think it's the flash and I haven't had a chance to get a picture of him without the flash yet. But in person, he definitely looks male. He has the rings but they're not at all white. More translucent. Paris's were that way too except his cere has always been very blue. I could be wrong, but we'll see eventually. I really want an even number of males and females but it won't be the end of the world if it turns out otherwise. :glare:
March 4, 200619 yr very cute Terri, I am going for both male (I remember Pretty was very confusing with those nasal rings)
