Posted March 3, 200619 yr Hi everyone, I'm new here, so I thought I'd better introduce my two beautiful birdies, Jimmy (the big green chap) and his buddy Custard. Jimmy likes to think he's a tough guy. His favourite pose is the 'hooded vulture' look. Custard loves Jimmy to bits, so of course, she annoys him regularly by trying to snuggle up when he's doing his Oskar the Grouch routine. I love my birds! Edited March 3, 200619 yr by Janette
March 3, 200619 yr Aww, they're both very pretty! In regards to your other post, it would definitely be a good idea to treat both birds for scaleyface since they're together. Your avian vet will most likely tell you this anyway though. Also, looks like Jimmy is a Jimmyette! Very female-looking cere she's got. Edited March 3, 200619 yr by eterri
March 3, 200619 yr they are sweet, I agree with Terri on that, Jimmy's cere is very light blue with white nostrils (looks like that in the pics) would would indicate a female. How long have you had your budgies?
March 3, 200619 yr Author Dammit, I always get it wrong. I used to have a boy called Rosie! I've not had budgies for that long, and I thought only boys had blue ceres. I've had jimmy (or should I say Jimmi) for about 18 months but he (she) was already about 3 months then. He originally lived with Rosie, who met a rather unfortunate end. Then he lived with Edie, who disappeared from a closed her cage one day without a trace. But now he's got Custard and they love each other loads. Custard is younger, I've had her(?) for about six months, I think she's about 8 months old now. Do you all think Custard's a girl? It's just that they act so much like a pair. They're always preening each other and loving each other; Jimmy even appears to regurgitate for custard. They must just be a very strange pair. Edited March 3, 200619 yr by Janette
March 3, 200619 yr same sexes will take on doing the same thing as opposite sexes, it is their nature, budgies just love to preen each other, and be close.
March 5, 200619 yr Hi Janette, welcome to the forums Couple of pretty birds you have there, Custard has beautiful colouring!
March 5, 200619 yr What lovely girls you have there!!! Your yellow-face has very interesting colouring on her head. Welcome to the forums!
March 5, 200619 yr Author Thanks Shawna, I picked her especially for her strange colouring. I'm new to budgie keeping so I just go for what I think is pretty. I don't really know what either of them are in terms of colour. I love them just the same though.
