Posted February 25, 200619 yr I was checking on the kids in the shower (Levi on my shoulder as usual!) And the next thing I know he is in the shower. He just stood there enjoying himself and I had to turn off the shower to get him to come out. Anyone have any tips for water birds? Any do's and don't? Thanks
February 25, 200619 yr Hehe, that's so cute! My budgie Blinkie loves having showers with me each morning, he has a little perch to sit on out of the spray but he often plays on my shoulder anyway.
February 26, 200619 yr yes definitely get him ashower perch. you can get ones that stick to the tiles with suckers. that way he will be able to enjoy his shower out of harms way.
February 26, 200619 yr That's great! I have one budgie and a cockatiel that like water but the rest of the crew are landlubbers and hate it when I mist them. I would have thought shower water to be far too warm for them but they must enjoy it and I guess you have to be careful to keep soap and shampoo away from them.

We live in north Queensland so its rarely ever very cold. This time of year we shower with only the cold tap on and it comes out lukewarm anyway!
February 26, 200619 yr Oh dear, will enjoy my hot showers even more now! But I did have that problem when I was living up North.
February 26, 200619 yr When Blinkie's sharing my shower i make sure he's sitting on his perch while i shampoo my hair.....of course, that's the one time where he's absolutely dying to see what i'm doing.
March 4, 200619 yr I wish my birds would do that! That's so lovely. Hmm... he looks as awful lot like my Jimmy... maybe we could do a 'swap'.
