I've received these two young birds from Holland, and I´m fascinated with their colours.

This is my favorite, his name is Voltar.

The second one is Valtor:

The two birds are very similar, (violet opaline yellow face type II) but one has clear markings in his wings, and the other has darker markings. I`m not sure, but I think one is clearwing, and the other is full coloured body greywing. What do you think??

Here are some other photos of them:

?you seem to have named them all volter? :budgiedance:

Lovely birds. Do you own all of them??? Lots of nice opalines.

ya they arew so cute! :budgiedance:

They're both gorgeous. I'm afraid I can't answer your question.. but I do see the difference in the wings.

I think you're probably right.

?you seem to have named them all volter? :budgiedance:

one is Valter and the other Volter there, the difference is the a and o :D

I am going to say they are both greywings personally, I remember reading there can be different shades of the grey on the wings I believe. But I am still trying to learn on the clears and greys.

They are all very beautiful birds.

I would think both greywings as well, but like you said the first could be clearwing.

Are these guys still very young? Just asking becuase I see no bleed of yellow into the body and wonder if they are type one instead.

Sorry, I wanted to say they are yellow face type I instead type II. But it's posiible they get more greenish when they have the adult plumage.

I don't know exactly about their age, I think they are about 2 months.

Greetings.

Pd: sorry if I've commited some mistake in my expression, remember I'm spanish, and my English level is low-medium.

Well, I love the pictures :D

But the names are mighty confusing! Though they are still lovely names! hehe

Your birds are beautiful Javi and when you write you have no accent at all!

Are their names spanish? What do they mean?

They are very cute little budgeis (I'm jealous)

Their names have not meaning, simply I like them. The spanish pronunciation is different than the english.

But they have a second name: Arisco y Simpático.

Arisco (Valtor) means unpleasant, and Simpático (Voltar) means pleasant.

Regards.

Javi, they are beautiful. :ausb: I would guess they are both greywings, but I am a bit confused about one of the pictures. You said one was with a skyblue opaline clearwing, but the clearwing looks like a greywing too... :bluebudgie:

Well, the sky opaline is clearwing, because he is son of a dilute sky blue cock and a clearwing opaline yellow face sky hen. These are:

The father:

The mother:

And the son, when he was young:

And here, with his brother, a dilute sky opaline, like the father.

And finally, one image when he was 5 months.

The mother looks like a Rainbow (Yellowface Clearwing).

What a great family and genetic. :D

Oh yes, she is a rainbow, of course.

Now, she is breeding with a normal violet cock, and today has been born the first chick.

Greetings.

Ah yes, I remember that hen from an earlier post. She is lovely. Congratulations on the eggs. Will you post baby pictures? Your birds are beautiful.
