Posted February 23, 200619 yr I've received these two young birds from Holland, and I´m fascinated with their colours. This is my favorite, his name is Voltar. http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/7/9/79d6db32.jpg The second one is Valtor: http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/e/1/e1ca8187.jpg The two birds are very similar, (violet opaline yellow face type II) but one has clear markings in his wings, and the other has darker markings. I`m not sure, but I think one is clearwing, and the other is full coloured body greywing. What do you think?? Here are some other photos of them: Voltar: With full colured body opaline dark green http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/f/2/f2945a6b.jpg With sky clearwing cinnamon opaline yellow face type II. http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/f/3/f359f434.jpg Valtor: With sky opaline clearwing. http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/0/2/025635b9.jpg With opaline cinnamon violet. http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/c/1/c1357d19.jpg :budgiedance: Edited February 23, 200619 yr by Javi_F.C.
February 23, 200619 yr They're both gorgeous. I'm afraid I can't answer your question.. but I do see the difference in the wings. I`m not sure, but I think one is clearwing, and the other is full coloured body greywing. What do you think?? I think you're probably right.
February 23, 200619 yr ?you seem to have named them all volter? :budgiedance: one is Valter and the other Volter there, the difference is the a and o I am going to say they are both greywings personally, I remember reading there can be different shades of the grey on the wings I believe. But I am still trying to learn on the clears and greys. They are all very beautiful birds.
February 23, 200619 yr I would think both greywings as well, but like you said the first could be clearwing. Are these guys still very young? Just asking becuase I see no bleed of yellow into the body and wonder if they are type one instead.
February 24, 200619 yr Sorry, I wanted to say they are yellow face type I instead type II. But it's posiible they get more greenish when they have the adult plumage. I don't know exactly about their age, I think they are about 2 months. Greetings. Pd: sorry if I've commited some mistake in my expression, remember I'm spanish, and my English level is low-medium.
February 27, 200619 yr Well, I love the pictures But the names are mighty confusing! Though they are still lovely names! hehe
February 27, 200619 yr Your birds are beautiful Javi and when you write you have no accent at all!
February 27, 200619 yr Are their names spanish? What do they mean? They are very cute little budgeis (I'm jealous)
February 27, 200619 yr Their names have not meaning, simply I like them. The spanish pronunciation is different than the english. But they have a second name: Arisco y Simpático. Arisco (Valtor) means unpleasant, and Simpático (Voltar) means pleasant. Regards. Edited February 27, 200619 yr by Javi_F.C.
March 1, 200619 yr Javi, they are beautiful. :ausb: I would guess they are both greywings, but I am a bit confused about one of the pictures. You said one was with a skyblue opaline clearwing, but the clearwing looks like a greywing too... :bluebudgie:
March 4, 200619 yr Well, the sky opaline is clearwing, because he is son of a dilute sky blue cock and a clearwing opaline yellow face sky hen. These are: The father: http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/1/a/1aac293f.jpg The mother: http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/2/b/2b120725.jpg And the son, when he was young: http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/c/0/c0c6e3d6.jpg And here, with his brother, a dilute sky opaline, like the father. http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/d/1/d1b41567.jpg And finally, one image when he was 5 months. http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/b/a/ba37082d.jpg
March 4, 200619 yr The mother looks like a Rainbow (Yellowface Clearwing). What a great family and genetic.
March 4, 200619 yr Oh yes, she is a rainbow, of course. Now, she is breeding with a normal violet cock, and today has been born the first chick. Greetings. Edited March 4, 200619 yr by Javi_F.C.
March 7, 200619 yr Ah yes, I remember that hen from an earlier post. She is lovely. Congratulations on the eggs. Will you post baby pictures? Your birds are beautiful.
March 13, 200619 yr Rainbow, I've just post a new topic with the new babies of Scarface: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=8989 And here, a new photo of Voltar: http://fotos.miarroba.com/fotos/5/7/5759e0f8.jpg Regards. Edited March 13, 200619 yr by Javi_F.C.
