Terri, I am glad she is doing better. Do her wings hang out like all the time or is just because of her postion or because of the feather being pulled? Is she in pain? This is certainly a great time to bond more with her, gives you an excuse for sure. How is Pippen doing?

She's looking much better already. I can lots of new feather growth. She's being so good

Her left one has always stuck out a bit because of a previous injury but the missing feathers really makes both of them look odd. She's actually missing her secondaries too so that definitely doesn't help. She's very off balance and I imagine is having to compensate quite a bit. With the amount of energy she's shown, she really doesn't seem to be in very much pain. She's playing, eating, singing, and preening as usual. I've already got quite strong bonds with each of my birds so the extra attention is just going to go straight to her head, I'm sure. :(Laughing out loud): (Phizzy's the only one who could use more work on bonding but the relationship I have with her is amusing even without her seeking me out for attention.) I can tell Pixel misses the other birds though. And it's so odd to see them interacting without her! She's the quietest one but it's so amazing what a huge difference it makes for her to not be a part of the daily flock rituals.

She doesn't seem to even remember the attack, does she Terri? Have you forgiven Mitzi (did I get the dog's name right?). I hope so, she was only playing, after all.

I don't think she remembers but she's at the hotel with me (they allow pets and there is a refrigerator in the room for her meds) so she hasn't seen Mitzi since it happened. I shall get Pika pictures for you tomorrow.

 

And yes, Mitzi was instantly forgiven by me (my mistake, not her's) but I'm not so sure how "forgiving" Pixel is going to be. I hope she isn't terrified of the dog from now on as Mitzi is obviously something that the birds have to see on a daily basis. She has to be everywhere that I am whenever possible.

So glad Pixel is doing so well, she seems to have put the whole incident behind her and got on with life. Great there is new feather growth and the skin that we can see is a healthy pink so there is no infection, way to go Pixel and e-terri!!

even after all that, still as lively as ever. It amazing how fast she seems to be growing back feathers, i thought it would take longer...

Gee Terri, to be an only child of two doting parents, she probably thinks it was well worth the pain!
