Posted February 20, 200619 yr Okay, well Isis here is a yellowface type 2 dilute grey Arkady is a yellowface type 2 skyblue Saffron is a dark-eyed clear: And Izzy is a normal sky blue In about a year I plan to breed Isis with Arkady or Izzy. (I think Izzy) And I worked out that they would produce babies of these colours: Dilute blue, dilute grey, normal blue, normal, grey, yellowface type 2 blue, yellowface type 2 grey, yellowface type 2 blue dilute, yellowface type 2 grey dilute. What do you think?
February 20, 200619 yr okay here are my guesses. The first one, is not grey? Did you mean to put a different picture? Does Isis have red eyes, in the picture it doesn't look like it If red eye - Lutino or a Creamino (still learning to identify these 2 correctly) if not then a Dark Eyed Clear Saffron is a dark-eyed clear: -I agree as long as she doesn't have red eyes Arkady is a yellowface type 2 skyblue - I agree And Izzy is a normal sky blue - I agree As for babies, I am going to wait an learn too.
February 20, 200619 yr On my monitor Isis looks yellow and grey....not all yellow, so Quote "Okay, well Isis here is a yellowface type 2 dilute grey " sounds right enough to me. Edited February 20, 200619 yr by budgiebird
February 20, 200619 yr A bettter shot of her would help with that, but it sound about right, I just question the dilute bit. The others sound right to me too As to the babies all but the dilute ones are possible but grey is a dominant gene and yellowface is dominant over whiteface blue, dilute is recessive and needs two gene to show up (one form both parents) and it would one happen if Issy is split for dilute, which if cuase is possible when you don't know the history of the bird.
February 21, 200619 yr Ask away in the mutation forum and all will help explain anything you want to know.
February 21, 200619 yr Author Yes Isis is definately grey on her belly. She could instead be mauve? Any way I think she has some form of dilution on her because her wing feathers have very light markings and her body colour is not that bright. It is possible that she could be a grey wing. Yes I thought that if Izzy or Arkady have a dilute gene, (which is unlikely, but still quite possible) half of the babies would be dilute. Saffron has dark eyes, however she has a white iris. Could she perhaps be a double-factor spangle????
February 21, 200619 yr double-factor spangle have no markings at all like ino's Greywing or dilute would match, but normaly greywing is only 50% colour reduction. So you might be right with your first choice.
