Here's the culprit (since Sunday). I'm very excited. I'm planning a 2 month quarantine. He's not quite as young as the others were. I'll get some better pictures when he's decided I'm okay. I'd love to hear a few name suggestions. I think he's a dilute mauve (or cobalt) yellowface type 2 pied. I thought he was a grey at first.

 

 

I'm having name troubles.

OOOh, pretty!!! I like the name Khepri, myself. He looks like a greywing of sorts...wish I could see his frontside...(hint hint). I take it since he's out of his cage, you are progressing well with taming? I'm looking forward to more pics, and tales of how he settles in. :fear

Pretty well actually. He let me take him out today and sat on top of the cage for a while.. He ate out of a food dish while I held it. A bit skittish at times.

Can't see his front but looks to be a Yellow Face greywing.

Very cute. :budgiedance: He looks grey-green to me. The greenish hue could be from type 2 yellowface. I think he is a grey bird. What color is he under the wings and on the rump?

I don't know about under his wings.. but near his legs and on his belly his color is a simular blue to Bunny--maybe more greyish-- but still blue. His colors are a bit more "washed out"/ pastel than in the pictures (but the second one is closer) which is why I guessed at a dilute. I really think he is a type II yellowface even though I'm not certain of the base color. I think he's somewhere in the middle of his 1st molt.

Yes he is a diute- a grey wing. The green on the body is from the yellowface gene. Since you talk of him being more blue than he looks in the pics I would look at mauve (a blue grey) sicne he looks grey to me.
