My Little Baby

Hi all! I've been lurking and enjoying all the pictures and posts on this site for a month or so now - just thought I'd finally drop in to thank you all for the helpful information and encouragement you share with other budgie owners. Here's my little baby, Da Finci (think "Da Vinci") although we mostly call him Booger - we've had him since mid-November and he's only just starting to come out of his shell - perched on my husband's shoulder for the first time last week (millet-bribed) and FINALLY tried out his playgym yesterday. How many times have I heard, "patience, patience..." :) He's a joy though. Here are a couple pix (I hope they come out okay!)...

What a beutiful little bird, and how wonderful that your gentle patience is paying off! Cant wait to hear more about him! His marlikngs are gorgeous!

Is that a rubber plant he is on? Ive just ben having a look to check that its a /bird safe plant' but I cant seem to find it on the safe or unsafe lists! It may be worth checking with you vet. In the meantime, heres some useful links for you concerning safe and unsafe woods, plants and trees etc.

Oh, and I LOVE the name! Da Finchi :)

Thanks! We think he's a pretty little thing too, but it's his personality that truly has us won over. He's such a little clown! And it's a flamingo plant - absolutely toxic! :) This was the first and LAST time he perched in it. His wings were clipped when we brought him home, but he's still a pretty good little flyer/hopper/climber and surprised us by managing to get up there. I snapped the shot really fast and then moved the plant upstairs. :)
