January 31, 200619 yr Birds will mimic the sounds that they are constantly 'bombarded' with. So therefore, if the owner is a Japanese speaking only Japanese to the budgie, it'll of course only pick up the Japanese language. I've heard Chinese speaking parrots as well.
January 31, 200619 yr Author you can see how cheeky this little budgie, jumping around having fun. Reminds me of Una's Apple :hap:
January 31, 200619 yr (Laughing out loud) thats way cute :hap: I think Apple is to Hyper to be able to learn his address But i've told him to go run and get his note book and pencil as lessons will start in half an hour :hap:
February 1, 200619 yr Author just a few observations, do you know how much she loves her budgie, she is waving her hands around with her cup and he is just like hanging on (Laughing out loud), and she was kissing him, he was so close to her. He really has a strong bond with her. Nice to see the companionship between someone who is eldery and a little bird. She needs him as much as he needs her
February 1, 200619 yr  I agree Lovey, she may not be as active as a younger bird owner but they really have a very strong and endearing bond. :ygbudgie:
February 1, 200619 yr :fear Atleast she doesnt have to take it out for walks as she would have to a dog
February 1, 200619 yr Author bird are actually a good pet for an elderly person, they just have to make sure they have someone to take care of the pet if they pass away. I would say a budgie too (shorter life span & easier to will to someone). I really think the neat thing is that she doesnt' think old school where they stay in a cage and chirp all day, she has a bond with the little guy, with him flying around and perching on her. My grandma's budgies never did that.
