Posted January 31, 200619 yr Hi! Now I know about Pixie, I'm all excited to know about my other pair.... This is Pebbles (left) and Bam Bam (right): http://static.flickr.com/17/93407512_a76d79566d_o.jpg And these are their babies, photographed this morning....(there's three): http://static.flickr.com/37/93407511_d6f108af50_o.jpg I'm all curious now as to what colour they might be... and I guess to figure that out I need to know what Pebbles and Bam Bam are. Bam Bam has a white spot behind his head (has had it since I got him) ... is that a marking or is it where he's been injured or something? See a blurry rendition of it here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/smileyjoanne/...in/photostream/ If it's a marking, then does that make him pied? Or am I on the wrong track? Another picture of pebbles, if it helps, it's quite dark... http://static.flickr.com/34/93408471_a99efbab75_o.jpg Cheers Joanne PS. For future reference, how do you get links to come up as pictures?
January 31, 200619 yr Under each photo on photobucket are 3 different codes. The last one is the image (IMG). copy and paste that one, and it will show as a picture in your post
January 31, 200619 yr They all look great. Pepples is a recessive pied sicne I can't seen a ring in her eye. If she does have one then she is a dominant pied. I also wonder if she is a violet with the dark hued blue around her head. ALso I can't see her back but wiht he head markings she could be an opaline as well, This is a sexlinked gene like cinnamon and so Bam Bam there would have to be split for it to show in any of the babies. Bam Bam is a dominant Pied. He has the head spot for one but didn't get any of the patches on his body. This is sometime called a headspot pied. It wasn't an injury like in us a hit to the head can make that patch of hair white. He is a cobalt blue. Out comes: 50% blue normals 50% Blue dominant pied all will be split for recessive pied and if she is opaline all the males will be split for it. The blue might change from a sky blue to cobalt like dad depending if they get a dark factor gene or not and if she is violet then you can get some violets as well.
January 31, 200619 yr Thanks for the replies! Great, I'll post more pics as they get older :hap: I just wish they'd hurry up and be all grown up already! (I'm so impatient...) Thank you so much Nerwen for identifying them for me. Cheerio Joanne
