Can you tell us about mealworms Docca? I have found a small container of them to be like $40, and I have no idea how to breed them or anything. But I have finches etc, and they all love live food, so any advice would be great!

A fair while ago i had an old bag of birdseed that got left outside and went yucky sorta, it sat for ages and moisture had gotten into the bag..

The top of it had sprouted over time and gone hard but the bottom was wet, smelly etc etc.. as i lifted it to move it i discovered it was FULL of these HUGE grub thingys. they looked like meal worms (i have sometimes bought tins to feed to my lizard) but i have no idea how they actually got in there to begin with but they were obviously feeding on the bird seed as they were HUGEEEE (the lizard liked them) .. some places i've seen selling live ones online recommend keeping them in bran as they eat the bran and its good for them to tunnel through :D

Cheers

Okayyyyy. They don't escape from the container do they????? (Alright, I'm a bit of a girl about creepy crawlies. Pictures are fine, reality is just so not okay)

:D WOW .. I WAS RIGHTTTTTTTTT heheee *slightly over excited as it doesnt happen to often*

So Docca do you know where they actually come from rather than just appearing in the seed? and Lin they just fairly well lay low in the seed and you wont even notice they are there untill you go digging for them

Cheers
