My daughter has added two new budgies to my aviary whilst on a visit to Perth from Melbourne where she works. The two 7 week old youngsters are a white albino (MING) and a yellow face pale green ? (BAU pronounced "bow" ) both females. They have both been given Chinese names as my daughter is learning Chinese. Ming apparently means BRIGHT and Bau means PRECIOUS

They look great I was confused with the title thinking people had addeda thrid country to clasaile budgies with,as in Enlish or america. (which are both wrong)

 

I think the names suit them to a tee Little Bau is a yellowface type two blue. These birds appear to look slightly green (or even almost a normal) they are a great colour.

If you look in my sig I in fact have three yellow faces, the second one the one in the middle and the one on the right under my name. So you can see there is a wide range of colour shade from this sort.

If you look in my sig I in fact have three yellow faces, the second one the one in the middle and the one on the right under my name. So you can see there is a wide range of colour shade from this sort.

The one on the far right looks a bit like our BUBBLEGUM too.

I think I'm going to have to steal that name later one I think it's great for a budgie.

Bao means precious in Chinese (or at least in Mandarin anyway). Oh, I speak five dialect of the Chinese language, that's why I'm taking a jab at saying that 'Bao' is the correct name for 'precious'. (as you said, pronouced as 'bow', as in 'bowed down'...

Thanks for that....I like the name BAO and the meaning of it. "Precious" was the intended name. My daughter is learning Chinese and has been to China already and will go back she says. So she was partly right anyway. COOL. BAO seems to have cinnamon wings too. A pretty thing. A friend has given me a sky blue female with I think grey wings...very pretty too. TA MUCHLY KAZ
