Posted January 24, 200619 yr Hello Everyone, Its been a long time I havent come here, I missed you all. Reason I joined was a loss of my beloved budgie due to a tumor, and I found wonderful support go through this difficult stage of my life. Since my last visit here a few positive things happend, I started dating with a nice man and also I'd like to introduce my little new budgie. I got him/her yesterday night from a breeder, he/she was born dec. 14 2005. The breeder said mostly its gonna be a male. Hes very friendly, he started eating a little bit this morning, he sleeps a lot and hes very quite. I was about to give the same name like my other budgie had, but if you have any good matching name for this little baby, I would consider changing.
January 24, 200619 yr Thanks, I have more picture, as I read they need time to get used to their new home, but still I'm a bit worried he doesnt seem very happy, since hes very young is there any special care?
January 24, 200619 yr hmm to me its crere already looks brown i wonder if this is normal it could look blue im not sure i think pip, sam, kem cozy or kez
January 25, 200619 yr Awwww, he's so sweet, pretty and alert. I like Pete or Sweet Pea as well. :redalbino:
January 25, 200619 yr Yesterday he was eating quite a lot, but I never saw a budgie eat that slowly and it took a long time. Is that normal? I'm happy that he is eating, still not sure with the names , I like Pete and just thought about Kiwi?
January 25, 200619 yr Sweet looking baby budgie. Regarding eating depends on what you mean by slowly, my little terror sometimes just takes ages to eat.

January 26, 200619 yr What a handsome little man. I'm guessing you are French Canadian. What about Cheri? Is that a literal translation for beloved?
January 26, 200619 yr I didnt think about that one, I really like that name. With my boyfriend we started calling him Kiwi, but I prefer Cheri , we'll see I'm gonna try both name with my budgie, and the one he responds better. Wich one is easier to pronounce for them? Today I'm gonna go buy him some toys :sport: What a handsome little man. I'm guessing you are French Canadian. What about Cheri? Is that a literal translation for beloved? Yes, it means beloved, thanks for the name
January 27, 200619 yr Finally my boyfriend really likes the name Kiwi, so we have a name I bought a few toy, also a bird bath but he wont go in it? When should I let him out from a cage? Thanks everyone for the names
January 27, 200619 yr Let him out when he is finger tame - when he will step up on command. Makes it so much easier and less stressful to put them away again. Sometimes they need to be tempted to use the bath, but I would let him get used to it first, before doing anything about it. Lots of ideas are already on this board about that
January 27, 200619 yr Thanks I'll try to do that, so in this case hes not ready. Somtimes he steps on my finger, but not on a command and I dont think he knows that hes not on the perch. Hes very active, always moving, doing excercies, very responsive budgie
