Type One Yellow Face Blue

Featured Replies

going to it to say

Dominate Pied but it would be a Type 2 because the yellow is in the body also.

Lets see if I am right  beautiful bird, I like that yellow band on his belly.

Clearflight dominant pied, I think.

On my screen the only yellow is on his face (everything on the body is white) so I'd say type one as well.

where his primary feathers are growing it looks pale yellow on my screen, is that due to the flash?

It could just be your monitor...I know they often change how colors appear.

A type two would also be more aqua marine in color because of the yellow mixing with blue. There would be a more greenish look. I'm pretty sure the shell markings would be edged in yellow instead of white but it may look that way on your monitor anyway.

AWWW I love him :yellowhead:

Donimant pied  and I'm with type one, I can see the bit of green on his chest in the frst picture but he looks too old not to have any bleeding around his throat area and so I think that bit is down the the flash.

Yes lovey that cream is meant to be there.

I think type two yellowface dominant pied. He could be type one, but on my monitor he seems to have a bit of greenish on his chest in the first picture, which would be the yellow bleedthrough of the type 2. Type two doesn't necessarily mean the whole bird will look green. The yellow edging to the wing feathers is normal since he is a yellowface, and the white flights and tail could be due to the clearflight pied gene. I'm guessing the tail is white, if it is normal blue colored, the white flights are simply a manifestation of piedness. He is a lovely bird!

Kathy5, did you get another????

okay, thanks for the clarification of the yellow around the wings, I thought I really was going bonkers :D But I am with Rainbow, I see the yellowish in the belly so it could be my monitor or the flash...

Hey, that is my bird Kathy5. I posted these pictures in another forum and these pictures of my bird were posted with out my permission. Anyways I dont care I, have more pictures of this budgie. If you want to see just ask and I will post them. Kathy5 thanks for posting here, they actually clarified what my budgie is. :feedbirds:

Nice to see you here :budgiedance: He is a darling.

There is a bit of question still weather he is a type one or type two yellow face, you might help us there can you tell us how old he is?

And his name is?

Thanks Nerwen,

I think he is a type two yellowface because in his chest he has some bareley visible green/blue feathers and the rest are blue. He has a yellow patch in his abdomen followed by a darker blue.

I actualy dont know how old he is, I found him. I had other budgies in another cage and all of a suden I see this beautiful budgie eating outside the cage from were the seeds had fallen to the floor. I caught him. He didnt have a leg band and I also listed him in the lost and found section of my local classified circular but one could actually claim it as theirs. He was already an adult when I got him.

I dont have a name for him yet. Im not really into naming my birds. :D

Im currently trying to breed him with a lutino hen, but he keeps picking at her and treating her badly. I guess tey are not compatible. I also have other pied variety budgies.

I wonder what I would get if i bred this budgie to my lutino hen? Can anyone tell me? :D
