:) Glad you're amused!! I wasn't sure if any little metal bits would fly off so i decided to get the safety googles from my science kit just incase. :(Laughing out loud):

Better to be safe than sorry...you've only got two eyes....best to look after them :):)

Oooh well done bea :):D Oh and I love the homemade swing, did the budgies take to it?

Sure did. Tiki especially seems to like it. I have this feeling that i'll constantly be replacing the string but if they enjoy it then it's worth it. :)

:):):D Excellent work Bea. But, your shoes should have been closed in ones! What if you had cut a toe off. Oh, actually, I would have enjoyed pictures of that :P

Daniel

Well making the frame only took probably 20 mins including cutting the stuff to the right sizes. :) We were stuffing around a lot though so we probably spent 3 hours making stuff, cleaning the aviary, catching the budgies, arranging stuff, putting the birds back. :)

thats so cool bea, well done! :P

doesnt it give you a sense of pride when you do it yourself. i have to say aswell that is a very innovative use for a couple of garden loungers!

 love the picture's now they can poo in a row

maybe you should enrol in a tafe collage a future carpenter for sure

:P

Fanastic work Bea, I have to agree with everyone the glasses picture is classic!!! I look forward to seeing more pictures with the birds swinging and hanging

I'm glad everyone like it! :D Yes, i do feel very satisfied seeing the birds using everything knowing that i made it. Whoever said i should do a course on woodwork or something, i have always joked about becoming a builder just because it's such a guys job and also because there's always those hot young guys who take their tops of when they're working. :P However, if you had of seen a movie of me attempting to cut the stuff to the right size you would see that i had a lot of trouble, i couldn't stop laughing....it was pathetic!! :(Laughing out loud): I took heaps of photos just now so once i resize them i'll post them in the pictures forum. :D

And if anyone is interested all the wood and nails, screws, etc only cost me $30AU!! :D I was very pleased!

:P Glad you're amused!! I wasn't sure if any little metal bits would fly off so i decided to get the safety googles from my science kit just incase. :ausb:

Bea I hope you went over the floor with a magnet to pick up those little bits of metal. Budgies will pick them up and if swollowed they will get metal posioning..... :(

Well i don't think any came off anyway but i cleaned the aviary out after i had finished so it should be okay.

You should be proud of actually doing it yourself.

Alot of people just buy stuff (like me - I'm lazy hehe!) when they could save themselves alot of money and gain much satisfaction knowing they like something that you made.

  • Author

Even if it was more expensive i think i would still prefer the knowledge that i made it myself, (Laughing out loud)! It's so satisfying and especially good showing it off to people... "Oh, and there's the stuff i made" :D

Way to go. Bea. I love doing projects myself. ;)

Thtta was a job well done, Bea. It looks great.

WHEN you get free time, you can come and do mine for me :redalbino:

Cindy

me too Bea, I have a number of idea's . . .

I've also got my dream aviary that I'll need help with when I decide to build it - still in planning stage (plans still in my head! (Laughing out loud))

That's such a great aviary. I'm hopeless at the drill...and really anything mechanical :D

It looks so good!
