January 10, 200619 yr Make sure your birds are on a varied healthy diet before they breed (and always). Calcium is especially important for the hen. And do tons of research. It would be a great idea to meet with experienced breeders to see how they do things. It also wouldn't hurt to visit a rescue. You might decide that rescue would be more rewarding to you.

I would also find out where your closest avian vet is And don't worry about asking them a few questions becuase that is where you will get the best answers. :ausb:
January 10, 200619 yr it can happen to any age hen although in my experiance it is mostly 3 years and older hens that suffer
